S.T.A.L.K.E.R was released in stores this past Tuesday! S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl "When Chernobyl melted down, it spewed a cloud of radioactive dust all over Europe. A similarly menacing cloud hung over STALKER's development, and given all its troubles we're fortunate to have a game at all, let alone one this good. Its setting is superb, its gameplay tense and convincing, and it boasts what are definitely the best fill-your-pants moments in a PC game for quite some time. It's hard to see how it could have turned out better."

The second Xbox 360 revealed: codename Zephyr "Ever wonder why Microsoft hasn't released an HDMI cable for the Xbox 360, or whether the AV port was really capable of digital out? Well, here's your answer: we landed pictures of what appears to be the second Xbox 360 -- the Xbox 360 v2, if you will -- codenamed Zephyr. (The original Xbox 360, if you recall, was codenamed Xenon.) The long rumored about and awaited update to the console won't just feature a new, cooler 65nm processor, it's also finally added an HDMI port for full digital 1080p pleasure, as well as a 120GB drive, just what the doctor ordered."

http://www.flyinglab.com/pirates/ I'm with the beta sign-eed up goodness. Eeek! "But I don't always get to add more and more people every week. While that's frustrating for those of you who filled out a Beta application in 2005, it's even more frustrating for people with Beta Keys who sort of expect to get an invite the day after they add their Beta Key to their application or at least that same week."

Two Screens Are Better Than One Give someone a second monitor, let them use it for while, and then try to take it away. It just isn't going to happen. They'll never go back to a mono display. Researchers in the Visualization and Interaction for Business and Entertainment group (VIBE), found that increasing a computer user's display space made it easier for them to complete their tasks. I have 6 17" LCDs connected to my desktop @ work. Overkill? I could probably get by with 3 comfortably, but then would have to press the Alt+Tab key combo Primary display - IE, surfing Secondary - Outlook, mail for domain I support Third - IE, OWA for domain I'm backup s…

Posted by: Mike Igoe, Reporter Created: 4/4/2007 4:20:02 PM Updated: 4/4/2007 5:18:40 PM Tom Stasio of Amherst is a Time Warner cable customer. He's had cable in his house since Adelphia originally owned the company.Recently when asking Time Warner some questions about his bill, he got a surprise. "I discovered there's two differen't rates, says Stasio. "There's an Adelphia rate and a Time warner rate. I found the Time Warner rate was less, almost $11 a month." With all the talk about HDTV I figured I would see what ppl think about HD vs. Satellite Radio. I happen to have a HD and (2) Satellite recievers and they are all pretty kewl. The one thing they need to added to HD radio that my sat receivers have is a recording feature with a rewind so you can listen to a song you like again and also song and game score alerts that tell me when a song or artist I like is on another channel and allows me to press a button and switch to that channel a few secs before the song starts and what the score of sporting events are with out having to listen to the whole game or even having to change the channel. One of the big advanages of Sat rad…

AMD on the Rebound: A Chat With Henri Richard HWZ: With the merger, it is understandable that certain products have been realigned, but could we have an update on the R600 delays? Henri Richard: The R600 will be out in the second quarter. The reason we decided to delay the launch was that we wanted to have a complete DX10-enabled solution top to bottom. A lot of people wrote that the reason it is delayed is because of a problem with the silicon, but there is no problem with the silicon. We are demonstrating it. We can ship it today. But if you think about it, looking at where the market is at, the volumes are going to be in the R610 and R630, so it makes sense for…

So I was reading this on Dell's site today: Installing a filler bracket over an empty expansion slot is necessary to maintain Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification of the system. The brackets also keep dust and dirt out of the computer and aid in proper cooling and airflow inside the computer. Am I going to get arrested if I don't replace that bracket plate? Is this one of those mattress tag laws?
