"In response to the #1 request from the community, DICE & EA are proud to announce the inclusion of anti-cheat measures in the next patch for Battlefield 1942. The Battlefield team is committed to providing an exploit-free gaming environment for members of our community. Our goal is to have measures in place which address both current and future cheats. As such, after researching existing anti-cheat programs, we've determined that Punkbuster™ suits our purposes perfectly. We'll keep everyone updated as to our progress. For now, we have successfully integrated Punkbuster into the upcoming 1.6 patch and we're in the process of testing it." Its all here.

This looks like a sweet card, but a little pricy. I give it 8-10 months, it will be under $150. ATI Radeon 9800 XT Maybe we can get a package deal. We've got enough serious PC gamers with hardware and software tech skills. We should be beta testing for ATI, Nvidia, 3DFX, etc.. Get paid to play.

Definately worth the read!!! "Futuremark has tremendous reach, an incredible brand penetration, and the ability to give their products to the end users for free. That simply is an incredible thing. Too bad their current benchmark is junk."

Question of the week: I have an Abit NF7 (nForce 2 Ultra 400) with 2 sticks of DDR266 (PC2100) 512Meg CL2.5 RAM. Can I pop out my Athlon XP Palimino 2000+ and put in a Barton 2500+ (which runs on a FSB of 333) and have it work ok with the memory I have? For what its worth, my motherboard already is running in Dual DDR mode with the current RAM. Side note: this motherboard offered a significant performance boost over my old VIA 266A motherboard.

Hey gang, A new Patch for BF1942, v1.5 has recently been released. Naturally it would be very normal to go & grab it right away & start playing... DON'T!!!! This beauty has some serious issues. Here's what I have encountered so far w/ it on 3 different PC's... 1) With it running as a dedicated server on my 3rd pc, myself & a friend were simply unable to connect to it. The loading bar status indictator would be almost done when the game simply crashes back to the desktop. This happens repeatedly no matter the amount of times I try. 2) Single Player mode now runs very choppy. One would normally associate the work "LAG" when having conne…
