PearPC 0.1 "Of course everything was not running very snappy; on their website they warn you: the emulated processor is about 40 times slower than the host processor. Still, I was amazed at what I saw: it worked!"

ATI's Radeon X800 texture filtering game "So ATI admits that it's using adaptive trilinear optimizations most of the time. No mention is made of cases other than colored mip maps—other "atypical" scenarios—where no such optimizations are used." ATI's Trilinear Filtering Chatlog "Q: Why did ATI say to the general public that they were using trilinear by default, when in fact it was something else? (quality is ok, i agree, but you did deceive, by claiming it to be a trilinear) A: We understand that there was confusion due to the recent reports otherwise. We provide trilinear filtering in all cases where trilinear filtering was asked for. As has been demonstrate…

ripped from BeyondUnreal:"The first volume of the long-awaited UT2004 Community Bonus Pack 2 has been released! The first volume of the pack contains a whopping 21 new maps, four new characters and a new mutator, created by some of the most talented members of the Unreal community. Note that this is just the first volume of the CBP. The second volume will be released next Thursday, May 17th, and will feature more all-new content that wasn't quite ready in time for the deadline. It's also been revealed that the CBP team will soon be releasing an official UT2004 version of the original UT2003 Community Bonus Pack, released last year." <-- I think they mean May 27th. …

Tim Sweeney on UE3 "BU: UT2004 required 5.5 gigs of hard drive space to install. This has got to be a strain a lot of people's systems. So you're talking 2048 x 2048 texture sets, what kind of system and memory is this next game going to take? TS: Well, we are aiming at the kind of PC that we think will be mainstream in 2006. We will also be able to scale it down. Basically DirectX 9 cards will be minimum spec, so any DirectX 9 shipping today will be capable of running our game, but probably at reduced detail. If you only have a 256 meg video card you will be running the game one step down, whereas if you have a video card with a gig of memory then you'll be able…

Check it!! partial rip: Recently we received confirmation that the first retail samples of ATI's R420 (AGP Radeon X800) will debut April 26 as Radeon X800 Pro. NVIDIA's NV40 (GeForce 6800) officially launches April 13th, but retail availability will occur around April 26th. Notice the NV40 product to be released April 13th is GeForce 6800, not GeForceFX 6800. ATI's naming scheme for R420 has been closely guarded as well, but the open term we hear from vendors is "Radeon X800."

On Tom's Hardware article on Networld+Interop 2004 Las Vegas Show Report - Wrap Up, from this page but it starts here! "ASUS also showed a wide line of switches including unmanaged, "smart" (VLAN, port control and QoS tagging) and fully-managed layer 2 and 3 switches in various combinations of 10/100 and 10/100/1000 port configurations. Its "smart" and managed models include quick-change fan modules, rack-mounting kits and dual-power capability. The mounting kit includes a simple, but robust post-and-hole feature that keeps switches from plummeting to the bottom of a rack if the mounting screws vibrate loose. On the low end of things, ASUS is trying to escape the fast…

Epic Games have released the first Unreal Tournament 2004 patch, bringing the game up to version 3204. Notable features in this patch include an experimental Direct3D 9 renderer as well as a lack of CD-in-drive copy protection. This patch is completely compatible with the retail version and previous patches - servers and clients of any flavor can connect with each other. This patch will not overwrite your ut2004.ini and user.ini files, except to update settings as necessary. This is identical to the beta 3204 we released earlier. The patch change list is included in the patch. After installing the patch, you can find it at ut2004\help\readmepatch.int.txt Li…

I'm going to keep the game files / patches for the games we play located here as it will STAND OUT more than being buried somewhere else. To keep things simple, I would ask to keep the POSTING in this Forum to a bare minimal since it's not really needed, it's true function is simply for allowing members to find the files they need to update their games when needed. If U have questions/concerns for me, feel free to Private Message me. -- Nem
