ATI Interview w/ Catalyst team "Allan: As both of you are involved with improving your customers experience with drivers and gaming, do either of you actually play computer games in your spare time, either for “research purposes” or just for the hell of it? What has been your favourite titles this year? Either of you own a console(s)? Terry: No I don’t play any games I actually do have a PS2 for a console and play a lot of sports games when I have people over. De-Spamming The Inbox: The Hard Way "Even after using precautions like dummy email address in public forums, I have been plagued by the spam mails for long time now. Two years back it used to be a few per day. And since then it has been a steady increase in the volume. As a result, till last weekend I used to get around 200 spam mails a day on my Institute's life-time email account. Then, one fine day (well, actually we were given notice 3 weeks in advance) our Institute decided to upgrade the Exchange mail server to the latest version. Hence the mail server was shut down for approximately 2 days/48 hours (4th Dec evening to 5th Dec noon). During that time, all the ma…

Intel to put 64 bits in desktops in 2005 "Intel once said desktop buyers wouldn't really need 64-bit capabilities until toward the end of the decade, but the company will make such capabilities a feature across its desktop lines next year. The Santa Clara, Calif.-based chipmaker disclosed at its analyst meeting in New York that it will include 64-bit functionality on its desktop chips starting in 2005, a schedule that roughly coincides with the release of a 64-bit version of Windows for desktops coming next year. The functionality will appear even in the budget Celeron line."

In this sense, we have found the best way to integrate the state-of-the-art technologies from NVIDIA and SCEI," said Ken Kutaragi, execu…

In our neverending quest to make the lan parties more fun and organized for everyone, here's the Dec. vote. Same as last time, vote for your top 3 games. If ones in the list, click it and post your other 2. Oh, when you post your other games, don't put something like this... BF 1942 and/or BF 1942w/DC If you do, I'll only count the first one, obiviously. Dragon

Windows NT 4 support to come at price in '05 "Microsoft is offering up to two years of custom support to companies still using the OS when Microsoft ceases its extended support for the program at the end of 2004. The company has decided to expand the for-free program to cover more security issues. Microsoft is now pledging to offer fixes for vulnerabilities rated either as "critical" or "important." Previously, the software maker had only committed to fixing critical flaws." Not that I use this OS anymore, but I still love how little RAM is required for it!!
