Like Mother Nature, AMD has a dark side — and on September 25, 2007 it will be revealed to the world. Hmmm, any guesses?!? (Although that was the original date for the Crysis demo that got delayed a month.)

Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition "On the following page you will find information and pictures of the TripleHead2Go Digital Edition module. We will then explore the drivers and gaming utility software. We want to know if the built in profiles work and if we can use newer games with the module where a profile is not yet present in the software. The software allows customization of new game titles so we will explore this. We then intend to test many games in a triple-display configuration with plenty of screenshots. We will also figure out what the best video card is for the job running at 3840x1024 and if SLI really works or not with triple displays. Read on." …

I decided to jump on an opportunity to take 10 week classes in both Chinese and Arabic. For $100 each you can't beat that price. I'll be a beginer in Chinese but I did 3 years of Arabic in undergrad so I'll do intermediate for that class I think.... but I'm rusty... http://www.iibuff.org/FLC.html http://www.iibuff.org/documents/2007_Fall_...ration_Form.pdf I was about to do this same type of clase up in Toronto every Saturday for 10 weeks... but that's 1.5 hours just to get there... this is 1 mile up the road from my job! woot!

AMD announces Barcelona quad-core processor "AMD today announced what the company calls the "most advanced x86 processor) as well as the first "native quad-core processor". Code-named Barcelona, the quad-core Opteron will be shipping in server systems this month. The core technology of the new CPU will also surface in AMD's Phenom processor for desktop systems in December. The new quad-core processor carries AMD's promise of the return of the firm's competitiveness in CPU performance. Like the original Opteron CPU in 2003, AMD introduces the core of the technology in the higher-margin server segment first with plans to extend it to the desktop within a few months.…

Nvidia cynically fiddled video benchmarks "THERE HAS BEEN quite a bit of talk lately about Nvidia fiddling with certain video tests, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. The problem is merely hinted at an understanding of the way it manipulated benchmarks, the real damage is revealed in how it did so - through sleazy underhanded playing of the media. The problem is simple, Nvidia can't do video decode well, and the current media darling benchmark, HQV - especially in the HD version of the benchmark - is eating its hardware alive. On quality, Nvidia regularly loses about 25 per cent of its score in a noise reduction test - enough, to more or less take it out of…

Hello. The cpu on my backup box got "dust fragged" yesterday. So if anyone has a amd socket 939 cpu they are no longer using and want to sell, or even a motherboard and cpu, I'd be interested. Let me know what you have and whats your price. Im newegg shopping right now and will pick up a cheap am2 board and 64x2 cpu otherwise. They are only running like $50'ish dollars on the cpu and between $30 and $70 on the mobo depending on name & features. So Im looking to beat out those prices if you got used and lower spec. Wayne

For those that might have wondered where I've been the past couple days. I went to the hospital Thursday night with SEVERE lower-rib cage area pain! They ruled out a heart problem and gave me some SWEEEET painkillers and a couple scripts and sent me home. Fri morning comes, now I'm unable to keep even water down (and still considerable pain), off to Dr and then back to the hospital. Spent most of the day there Friday getting tests done and got sent home later that nite, after confirming I could at least keep water down. They think they have narrowed it down, but won't know for least a couple days yet. Anyway, if you wondered where the fudge I was, thats the dilly....…
