PCI Express 225W/300W Graphics Card Electromechanical Specification Revision 0.3 Draft "PCI Express 225W/300W Graphics Card Electromechanical Specification Revision 0.3 Draft (1.10MB PDF): This specification is a PCI Express 225W/300W Card Electromechanical document that addresses graphics power and thermals greater than those supported by PCI Express CEM 1.1 and PCI Express 150W 1.0. Its purpose is to provide additional capabilities for PCI Express graphics within the existing framework of an evolutionary strategy that is based on existing motherboard form factors. This specification is primarily designed to deliver additional electrical power to a PCI Express gra…

I purchased one of these HSPC Tech Station Kits from Xoxide last week. I gave some of yous a coupon code to pick one up too for cheap, dunno how many of yous actually got one though. Anyways, after I put it through its paces this month I was gonna write a review if you think it would be helpful to anyone.

Sound Blaster X-Fi Issues Explored "From our entire testing, the X-Fi generated crackling noises from 40% (2/5) of the motherboards. I’d consider it a high number because PCI cards are suppose to fit and work fully within the PCI specification. If this card fails to work on more than a single motherboard, the manufacturer should investigate and do something about it. I must say that the latest driver update has helped in reducing the frequency of these issues, and some motherboard manufacturers have released BIOS updates to fix the issue."

I was playing NWN2 last night a few hours from about 9pm to 1am. Everything went great had no issues at all with computer. When I was done I shutdown computer normal. Wife before works she normally goes online to check bank account if she needs to. This morning she turned computer on and it will not boot. Don't even get any beep codes. On the MB just the FF code is displayed right away. I think that's the code for a normal boot. Only time I get a sound from the MB is when I take video card out. I take the memory out and get no beep codes. Do I have a bad MB all of a sudden?

Now I know why I was getting the machine check exception errors every now and then. The board was going and it was always kind of flaky. bad board

  9. MS Technet Setting this value to 1 is useful when debugging drivers, because all of the code and data is always memory resident. It also improves performance on machines with a lot of memory, because it prevents disk reads to get code or data. I benchmarked my system with 3dmark06, 3dmark01, FEAR and CS:S before and after setting this to 1. I either lost or stayed about the same with my 2x1GB RAM. I added another 2x512MB RAM to total 3GB and the performance was worse (I had to change from 1T to 2T to use older stuff). I cant play with these low frames...

I reset BIOS still get nothing. I do not have the time nor the parts or room to properly test the stuff.
