Power Color X1800 GTO: Cable-free Crossfire Explored "Power Color has sent us their X1800 GTO card which is specced identically to the Sapphire version, albeit with a different cooler. To add some meat to this article however, we will be testing both cards in Crossfire in a number of configurations to see how ATI's recently implemented cable-less Crossfire support fares."

Battlefield 2142 - Lessons Learned "You learn so much from developing a game. Each time you put more experience and knowledge into a product, you trust that it will better than the one before. I certainly think Battlefield 2 is a better game than Battlefield 1942. The great thing about the game play we deliver is the fact that it fits nicely into pretty much any environment or era. This means that many of the things we learn come in handy when making the next product. An example of this is how we have dived deeper into the squad design. Looking back on the last 12 months it's clear gamers liked that we made squad play available in BF2. Now, in 2142 the depth of the sq…

Getting Ready to Meet Intel Core 2 Duo: Core Microarchitecture Unleashed "Since Core Microarchitecture is designed for dual-core right from the start, the developers could optimize some functional units according of the upcoming processors accordingly. Unlike all other desktop processors available these days, CPUs with Core Microarchitecture will share their L2 cache between the cores. This cache memory works similarly to the mechanisms that you can find in today’s dual-core Intel Core Duo mobile processors."

Oblivion Adds Multiplayer "Of course, that says nothing about stopping the modding community from solving the problem on their own -- and that's exactly what they've gone and done. the_FERRET decided to undertake the ambitious project on his own, resulting in an alpha release last week allowing for two players to run around Cyrodiil together. The next release should support eight players engaging in deathmatch and capture-the-flag."

  12. Saitek Eclipse keyboard - $35 @ Radioshack I like the fact that the light shines throught the keys as well as around, and I can change the level of illumination. The keys depress like butter. 9.2/10 Flexiglow Cyber Snipa gamepad - $28 @ Xoxide This thing blows so far. I've only had it 4 days, but the keys have to be depressed in the middle, otherwise they stick. The SPACE key is in a perfect position, but if you dont push right on the lettering, it doesnt work. Ill give it another week or so, then Ill ebay it. 3.6/10 I would write a review, but it would be too negative.

  13. I propose this thread to brag about our great tales of domination / fun / embarrassment / etc Just tell a little blurb about something that happened in the games at the LAN that really stood out for you :dork: For me it was that last round of BF2. At one point in the round OCNoy decided he was going to steal our sides tank by sneaking up the back side of the hills. Then you just slide down the slope quick and you're in the tank. Well i was running to get the tank from the lower spawn point - as i crest the hill theres OCNoy coming over the slope - he's like 15 feet from the tank, Im about 100 yards or so, lol, clear at the other end of the plaza, no way to…

The games have finally been decided upon: Star Wars: Battlefront II Call of Duty 2 S.W.A.T. 4 Due to the problems that will always arise, if there are any issies, we will have Call of Duty - United Offensive available for our contingency plan. 15. 10 Reasons Why High Definition DVD Formats Have Already Failed "I’m not typically a doom and gloom kind of guy – really, I’m rather optimistic. But this pending format release/war is simply the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen in a long time. The hype machine is entirely enthusiast-created and since that day I realized Steve Jobs could sell a fart provided he sued a public Mac forum for talking about it before its release, I began to understand the power of public mania."
