AMD's Phenom Unveiled: A Somber Farewell to K8 "Two more quad-core Phenoms will come out in Q1: the 9900 and 9700, clocked at 2.6GHz and 2.4GHz respectively. The Phenom 9900 will be priced below $350 while the 9700 will be a sub-$300 part. As you can probably guess, the introduction of those two will push down the pricing of the 9600 and 9500, which will help Phenom be a bit more competitive. It's worth mentioning that in the 11th hour AMD decided to introduce a multiplier-unlocked version of the Phenom 9600 sometime this year that will be priced at the same $283 mark. Whether or not it's called a Black Edition is yet to be determined." Phenom 9700, AMD's 1st Qu…

Crysis Multi-GPU Status "Therefore, we must wait for this first Crysis game patch to be released before we can evaluate AMD/ATI CrossFire and NVIDIA SLI performance in Crysis. Rest assured as soon as that game patch is out, and the drivers released, we will be on top of CrossFire and SLI performance in Crysis stat."

I had an incredible weekend. The International Taoist Tai Chi Society has this beautiful temple and Tai chi center about an hour west of Toronto (2 hour drive from my house actually) and I had probably one of the most incredible weekends of my life there. I studied the Taoist Tai Chi set under Tony Quan who is an extremely well know international instructor. He actually lives and teaches in Toronto too so I'm going to go to his class again on Tuesday most likely but this weekend was Tai chi instruction from 10 am to 10 pm on Saturday and until noon on Sunday. It was very enlightening and just an incredible experience. It was a SERIOUS workout and my legs, back, arms,…

Another Cool Portal Map From Bethesda "The boys at Bethesda have released another nifty keen Portal map for your puzzle solving pleasure: Back in November, we posted about a Portal Map, Ren_Test2, that our very own Daryl Brigner designed. Daryl, and the rest of us at the office, were surprised and excited to see the response it received. In addition to becoming the most popular post on Bethesda Blog, buzz about the map spread to numerous gaming blogs and it was even featured in a recent issue of PC Zone. Well, Daryl’s done it again. This morning he let me know that a new level, appropriately titled_Ren Test3, is now available for download. In addition to the …

Radeon 3870 X2 works at 825MHz "ATI dared to clock two RV670 chips to over 775MHz, and it realized that its dual slot cooler can cool this chip all the way to 825MHz. This is the current clock of Radeon 3870 X2, but some partners might clock it a bit faster. This is the minimal clock of the card. ATI clocked it at over 800MHz in order to break one Teraflop, and this will be the first card to do that, while Nvidia’s Geforce 9800 GX2 will be the second to go over this mark." HD3870X2 delayed, benchmarked "AMD HAS riled world+dog by back the date on the 3870X2 launch. NDA’d for today, the twin engine graphics card was supposed to shock and awe consumers a…
