Looks like Halflife 2 will be shown at E3, this ripped from: http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/26050 Although incredibly brief this is probably deserving of a full news item all by itself since it's the first direct correspondence from Valve Software on the topic. We just got this very brief statement from Valve Software: Half-Life 2 will be shown at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. Plus 2 upcoming mag covers....

"Ever have one of those weeks? This has just not been the best couple of days for me or for Valve. Yes, the source code that has been posted is the HL-2 source code..... What I'd appreciate is the assistance of the community in tracking this down. I have a special email address for people to send information to, helpvalve@valvesoftware.com. If you have information about the denial of service attacks or the infiltration of our network, please send the details. There are some pretty obvious places to start with the posts and records in IRC, so if you can point us in the right direction, that would be great.... We at Valve have always thought of ourselves as being p…

Halo 2: Gone Gold They said it couldn't be done! Actually, they didn't say that, but if they had, we'd have proved them all (the fake people who didn't say anything) wrong! Halo 2 has gone gold. We finished every line of code, every pixel of art, every frame of animation, every phoneme of dialog and every note of music. We finished it when we said we would (when it was done) and shipped that baby right on time to make its November launch date. And we're kinda proud of it. We think it's "fun." Shipping: US - Halo 2 (EFIGSKJC) - 9-Nov-04

GameSpot "Halo 2, the long-awaited sequel to one of the most widely praised, most influential first-person shooters ever created, has a very tough act to follow. Fortunately, it's built on a foundation that's as strong as they come. The game's success was preordained--publisher Microsoft tallied more than 1.5 million Halo 2 preorders in the weeks leading up to the game's release, which demonstrates just how confident Halo's fans are in the sequel's quality. But how is it, really? The good news is, the sequel to the Xbox's defining action game is an absolutely superb, fully featured game, boasting an excellent presentation, a highly replayable campaign, and the greates…
