  2. WD Ships 600GB VelociRaptor Drives The WD6000HLHX ($329 list) 600GB drive supports the new 6-Gbps SATA interface, which may make for data transfer speeds up to 15 percent faster than could be achieved with the previous 300GB drive. An increase in cache from 16MB to 32MB will also provide another performance boost. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2362310,00.asp

Exactly what I predicted would happen when Guitar Hero's first appeared. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10465715-1.html Instead of using plastic simulations of guitars that are essentially just dressed-up plastic game controllers, the game uses fully functional six-string guitars that control the game, but can also be played in real life. We got a sneak peek at an early version of the game and its hardware, and came away impressed with the general concept. The guitars have quarter-inch instrument jacks, which can be used to hook them up to any guitar amp. When connected to an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 console, you press a button and a dampening …

My brother in law pre-ordered it without even looking at the system requirements. He got it and realized his comp prob will spit at him if he tries to load it. Decided he'll grab it for his console instead. Asking is anyone would be interested in it ? Asking $40 - might be able to talk him into $35 ?

  8. I just wanted to come by and let everyone know about the new LAN party that I am planning for early 2010! After years of working with MassiveLAN and attending over a hundred LAN events, I've decided to start up my own party. The location will be the South Lockport Volunteer Firehall, the same location of MassiveLAN 2006-2008. We're going to be capping this event at 75 seats, which gives us a lot of advantages over the MassiveLAN events that have been held at the same location. We will be able to provide attendees with more space to spread out, with two computers per 8-foot table. By capping the attendance, we're also in a much better position to provide stab…

So, I've been playing the starcraft 2 beta a bit. I enjoyed the original and brood war quite a bit back in the day as a easy-to-play RTS. I have mixed feelings about SC2. It's almost exactly the same as the first one. Hold up, I realize that blizzard was pretty much locked into that. There are a lot of die hard fans of the the original, and of course the whole Korean thing. So they couldn't do anything radically different, and risk losing the fans. Nor should they have. Why mess with a good thing, right? They've basically updated the graphics and done some well needed tweaks to the mechanics and units. So it feels like starcraft, but a little new. …

  15. For those that have been interested, there is a new beginners Taoist Tai Chi class that just started that you can still get in on. See my sig below. It's over on Kenmore Ave by St. Joes. Mondays & Wednesdays from 6-7pm for 3 months. You will learn all 108 movements of the Taoist Tai Chi set taught by yours truly. I 1st began doing Taoist Tai Chi in 1996 (damn 14 years). Next week Monday will probably be the last day to join for this session as the class will then be too far ahead after that.
