I happened to go into best buy today and they had an open box item that I couldn't turn away from. The Samsung P1200 blu-ray player for only $249.... I told them if they can knock the price down a bit I'd take it off their hands, so the manager brought it down to $219.99 for me!! I ran out the store w/ it. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/product...&lid=585550 New it's still sold for about $499

This has been posted before but figured I would bring it up again to our members http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/vie...mId=6D5XNJBR9N1 WNYG has a WCG team and would love if more members joined in. World Community Grid can be used with the BOINC Client and uses unused CPU time (idle time) to work on projects that help us all. I got involved with this in 2004 when I saw that one of the projects was to find a cure for breast cancer, which was how I lost my mother over a decade ago. Check it out and join in, you never know a result returned from your idle CPU time may save your life someday.

Anyone playing WiC? This has to be one of the best RTS's I have seen. This is like playing a faster/modern version of CoH with way better graphics, do not get me wrong I love CoH; but comparing CoH and WiC is like comparing BF2 and CoD4, all are great games but they each have their strong points.

Some how some way I resubed my WoW... It only took hours of installing, creating a new disc 4 (as I think I used it as a frisby), patching, burning crusade discs, blah blah blah...ui set up and the like.... It was nice to fly around on my netherdrakes nad my epic bird form (druid)... Plus my old guildies are coming back to WoW as we are preparing to get organized as Warhammer Online is in the pipeline.

World of Warcraft has been rumored to be jumping platforms to the Xbox 360 for some time, but if The New York Times is correct, the next jump it makes will instead be to the world of film. The Times is reporting that Blizzard will announce Tuesday that its massively successful, massively multiplayer online role-playing game is set to be made into a big-budget fantasy picture along the lines of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings films, with Warner Bros.' Legendary Pictures handling the production. New York Times

World Of Warcraft Update Interview Computer Games - First, World of Warcraft has had perhaps the biggest launch in terms of initial sales than any other US developed MMORPG. Did the sales figures exceed Blizzard's own internal expectations for its release? Shane Dabiri - Well, we weren’t necessarily surprised at the number of people who wanted to play World of Warcraft. What we were surprised at was how quickly it happened. Our internal projections were that we would probably see over 500,000 accounts creations and 200,000 peak concurrency, but only after a year of slow steady growth. Instead, as we all know now, that happened after just a few weeks. We’re very gr…

...and you thought your job sucked? "As of Jan. 30, 2006 the average per-capita income in the U.S. was $27,640, which means that a lot of people in the nation earn considerably less." "Crab fishing, one of the worst jobs around, no matter which way you slice it. The short fishing season for crab—and the high potential payoff—means the pace onboard a crabbing vessel is grueling. Deckhands routinely put in brutal 21-hour shifts launching and retrieving the 800-pound crab pots. The primary allure? The money, of course. Crew members can raked in $50,000 during the three- to five-day king crab season." Then again five days of 21 hour shifts that are paying $10,000 …

I have more money that I expected to have to spend on my next system (too bad, eh?). anyway, what's ppl's opinions on maybe dropping the extra $$$ to go with a amd64 x2 chip vs. amd64? both are socket 939 so I could upgrade down the line, or just drop the cash now. There are some pretty nice deals on pricewatch for mobo/cpu/ram combos. I just don't know if the price difference is worth it. I'll def. be picking up a nice pci-e video card, like I said, dunno if I should splurge on a chip, specifically an amd64 x2 3800. kevin
