AMD Shows off Three new Sockets at Spring IDF 2006 "On the server side, AMD had a working demo of their new Socket-F (1207-pin) Opteron products. Just like Socket-AM2 and S1, the Socket-F platform supports a dual channel DDR2 memory interface. The greater number of pins will be useful in accommodating the power needs of quad core Opteron products due out in 2007. With the dramatic increase in pins over the previous Opteron socket, AMD had to move to a LGA interface similar to what Intel uses in all of their desktop CPU sockets." Check it!! partial rip: Recently we received confirmation that the first retail samples of ATI's R420 (AGP Radeon X800) will debut April 26 as Radeon X800 Pro. NVIDIA's NV40 (GeForce 6800) officially launches April 13th, but retail availability will occur around April 26th. Notice the NV40 product to be released April 13th is GeForce 6800, not GeForceFX 6800. ATI's naming scheme for R420 has been closely guarded as well, but the open term we hear from vendors is "Radeon X800."

AMD adds new flagship Athlon 64 X2 processors 5400+, 5600+ "For now, AMD's aging 90 nm "Toledo" core has to say of the forefront of the battle against Intel's Core 2 Duo, formerly code-named "Conroe". The new processors 5400+ and 5600+ use socket AM2 and increase the clock speed from 2.6 GHz of the 5000+/5200+ to 2.8 GHz. As previously, AMD uses different cache sizes for different performance ratings of its processors: The 5400+ has 1 MB L2 cache, the 5600+ 2 MB." Well I suggested that the forums needed a Case Mod Section and *BAM* they got one. Also out of no where I was selected to head it up... Oh well guess things could be worse, so here is my piss poor excuse. This system is changing (Looks a little different now, 1st attempt going on 2nd) also working on Beige to Black conversion system that I will be posting soon. BTW: I know I have to work on my wiring. hey guys im new here but im intrested in joining in in my box amd Athlon xp 3000+ 1gb of ram at 333 mhz geforce 4 ti 4600 via kt400 chipset winxp pro and i play UT UT2K4(the demo at least) battlefield 1942 cs 1.6 gta 3 and vice city (cant wait for the multi play) (z)doom(gl) neverwinternights (mod om on a team with at www.planetneverwinter.com/daggerford ) and usally got saturdays off if thats the preferable day for a lan
