Hey all. Basically Im getting ready to put a solid overclock on my e6600. Winter time temps dont look to be a problem but when summer heats things up it might be a little much for stock. Does anyone have suggestions on good air cooling I could buy thats not too harsh on the budget and just as importantly not too loud ? I could also consider water but dont have experience with it yet and im seeing it to be somewhat expensive by comparison. Any suggestions or input is appreciated as always. Thanks, Wayne

I decided I am going to send back the BIOSTAR TA690G AM2 AM2 AMD 690G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard for the MSI K9AG Neo2-Digital AM2 AMD 690G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard. I would probably be better off with the MSI anyways. Not sure why I didn't see it in the first place maybe they were out of stock for a little bit.

The Mac went down in two minutes. The Vista SP1 PC made it two days. Only the Sony VAIO VGN-TZ37CN laptop running Ubuntu 7.10 survived the CanSecWest PWN to OWN PC hacking contest. http://www.desktoplinux.com/news/NS2702127176.html Long Live Ubuntu!

Optimus Maximus: at long last, we bring one home to test "It's the damndest thing: years after seeing the renders we're actually finally writing this post on our very own Optimus Maximus. We've had ours for a few weeks for testing, but we weren't able to do a whole lot with it until we got some later firmware updates. Here's the preliminary report: The OLED displays look really good, and are bright and colorful, just like we'd hoped."

Interview with PC Power & Cooling Founder "That sounds reasonable. This is also for example how the single 12V rail got into place. Why exactly is one 12V rail better than separate rails, and why is this not a safety issue for the user? DD: One 12V rail is better because all of the power supply's capacity is available to the system. With a multi-rail 12V design, as much as 30% of the PSU's capacity can be trapped on under-utilized rails. For example, if one 12V rail rated at 18A is for the CPU, and the CPU only draws 8A, the remaining 10A cannot be utilized by other components in the system. That's true. I had an AnandTech reader writing me about a problem wi…

Video RAM - how much do you really need? "Ah, the good old days of 4MB of EDO DRAM. Amazing that ten years of development have made it utterly useless - the main menu screen of Crysis needs 20x that amount of VRAM alone."
