The Latest DVD Writers' True Speeds "So while the quick arrival of dual-layer writers has helped keep both -R/RW and +R/RW stay in the race, the + standard still has a lead. The + standard's writing performance also proved to be better, as you'll see later in our test results. With this in mind, we tested the writers with media that are actually available for sale to make sure our tests reflect actual conditions on the street today."

ATI Calls PS3 Unrefined "Q: You make it sound so unrefined! A: [Laughs.] Well, yeah, but the tragedy is that it is unrefined. There’s a lot brute force in there - I’d be the last person to admit it, but the truth is that the 7800GTX is a pretty powerful piece of hardware, but it’s not very elegant, it hasn’t got the kind of: ‘Well, how do we design this to be the best possible console we can build for this money?’" there is more.... go read it!!

Microsoft sure are trying to take on Sony, $300 per unit loss? That's quite a bit of money... everyone selling them Xbox's on Ebay should be giggling now."

  7. Intel's 65 nm Process Breathes Fire into Double-Core Extreme Edition "Running a multiplier of x16 allows for hitting an amazing 4.26 GHz, which is a 23% increase over the default clock speed of 3.46 GHz. At this speed, the double-core Pentium becomes noticeable warmer, but it still does not dissipate the heat levels of a 90 nm dual core Pentium D or Pentium Extreme Edition 840."

How to build a gingerbread computer "Christmas is just round the corner. For some it is a chance to relax with friends and relatives and retreat from the every day hectic work pace. A common family tradition is Christmas baking and most of us have probably taken part in it at least once, with a more or less successful result. Personally, I’m not a big fan of the whole Christmas baking thing, but since my girlfriend loves it I usually end up doing it anyway."

Neverwinter Nights 2 Interview, Part 1 "For the single-player campaign, we designers had the luxury of having tools from the start of the project so we could start building and planning right after we got the story nailed down. The goal on this front is to make it so people that only pick up our game for a single-player experience have a game on par with any other single-player only RPG; tons of gameplay, an involved story, deep and entertaining companions, and a horde of monsters to bash and slay. No monkeys or a thousand elephants. *sigh* Maybe next game. A lot of people only picked up NWN1 for the campaign - so we want to make sure those people are happy campers."

Battlefield 2 Special Forces an online success "Digital Illusions’ expansion pack Battlefield 2 Special Forces was launched in the end of November 2005. This was the first product Electronic Arts sold directly to consumers over the internet. The test was so successful that the PC game – another expansion pack to Battlefield 2 – planned for launch during spring 2006 now will be changed to booster packs to be sold online.
