Video Game Matches to Be Televised on CBS "Tomorrow at noon, CBS, the august home of the Masters and March Madness, will become the first broadcast network in the United States to cover a video game tournament as a sporting event. So viewers flicking channels looking for a ballgame or golf tournament may instead encounter a couple of young guys rocking out on plastic guitars, or some (literally) disembodied digital boxers throwing uppercuts, or a fanciful animated wizard casting a spell. “Who knows, in 10 years we could be looking back on this as a very significant moment,” said Rob Correa, senior vice president for programming at CBS Sports. The network’s b…

Since Bob is in a new location, tapped into a different subnet, I guess we'll all need the new IP for the UT servers, etc.... And keep your eyes open for a PC version of Dead or Alive 3, the game is awesome, but appears to only be for the X-box so far....fitting though. Some of the girls costumes and moves make it appear to be a adults only game. I caught Jay trying to give the one girl fighter a dollar....LOL

Gamepad/joystick Ports on sound cards do you really need them. over the past few years almost all gamepad/jopysticks can be used with USB so why do card manufacturers still put the port on the cards. Thats one thing that bothers me about the X-fi extreme music. I am considering saving a bit of monay and just getting the Audigy 4 OEM card not really sure if I need more games anyways. I don't have much time for gaming and when I do I always have son with me (5 months old.) A lot of vendors now have weekly rebates on the X-Fi cards so I am wondering if I should stick it out a bit longer and see what happens. This rebate here is very tempting. 169.99 regular aft…

Ok, so I am going stir crazy over here. I was never a super gigantic gamer or a very good one, but I sure loved the occassional neverending Halo matches with my friends and whatnot. Since my son was born (he's about 20 months right now) I'm desperate to find some fellow gamer and geek parents to hang out with during the days and weekends, preferably with kids about the same age. We could take turns playing and watching the kids, they can get some socialization in and such...watch geek shows, whatever. My nonparent friends mostly ditched me or refuse to understand that taking a toddler to a non toddlerproofed house isn't fun. Looking for peeps local to Orchard Park, Ha…

High-Tech Vest Lets Gamers Take a Hit "Sure it sucks to get killed while playing a shoot-'em-up, but you know you can just get up and start over again. But what if you actually felt all that carnage? Would it make you think twice before charging in?"

Gamers see gain and pain from Microsoft Vista Microsoft says Vista will provide the best way to play highly anticipated games such as "Crysis", a breathtakingly realistic shooter, "Supreme Commander", a strategy game that gives players control of massive armies, or "Age of Conan: Hyborean Adventures", a lush online role-playing game. A key feature is a "Games Explorer", sort of a "My Pictures" folder for games, that organizes titles in one place and issues alerts when updates and patches become available;

Game given pre-watershed ad ban (in the UK) "The 18-rated game, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, has been criticised in the past for its violent content. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) was asked to investigate after receiving eight complaints about two adverts featuring game extracts. They were shown before 2100 GMT when children could have been watching."

Well I have made the jump to WinXP 64-Bit, as I have had a copy for over a year and just been waiting to need a reinstall. and I was looking for games that Support 64-Bit CPU/OS's Here is what I found on the web: What is 64-Bit? "Certainly, the most complicated task was playing games. A game is a fairly complicated task from a technical point of view. These were the computers for which the first games relying on more advanced graphical capabilities were released. These games already had serious business prospects. Perhaps games also contributed to the huge development which followed and is continuing to this day." 64-bit games list List of 64-bit games…
