The cost of weapons and equipment that you purchase in Counter-Strike: Source are now based on an algorithm that calculates the global market demand for various weapons. As more people purchase a certain weapon, the price will rise and other weapons will become less expensive. Starting October 11th, the prices you pay for weapons in Counter-Strike: Source will be updated every Monday based on the volume of purchases over the previous week Details | Algorithm

CUBE Looks DARN interesting!!! "Cube is an open source multiplayer and singleplayer first person shooter game built on an entirely new and very unconventional engine. Cube is a landscape-style engine that pretends to be an indoor FPS engine, which combines very high precision dynamic occlusion culling with a form of geometric mipmapping on the whole world for dynamic LOD for configurable fps & graphic detail on most machines. Uses OpenGL & SDL."

Scientists at IBM Almaden, in tandem with scients at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, said they'd performed the first near real time cortical simulation of the brain exceeding the scale of a cat cortex and with one billon spiking neuros and 10 trillion individual learning synapses. They also claimed that the system rivals the brain's low power and energy consumption. The simulation of the cat cortex used a simulator on the Lawrence Livermore Dawn Blue Gene/P supercomputer - it has 147,456 CPUs and 144 terabytes of memory. http://www.tgdaily.com/general-sciences-fe...prove-chip-tech

This is the coolest thing I've ever seen. They're not finished and open yet, but it looks AWSOME so far. They have like 45 or something computers already hooked up to their network and games already loaded, and they have space for people to bring their own computers, and XBOX people as well. And they have a room where you can hook your gear up to a WALL size projection system and 5.1 surround. I went over to the building and checked it out, and I'm excited about it all. Here's a link to their homepage and a link to some pictures in their forum: http://www.cyberjocks.com/ http://www.cyberjocks.com/msgboard/viewtop...c.php?p=835#835 They are actually BETA t…
