Creative launches USB X-Fi "The USB sound card supports X-Fi Crystalizer, various CMSS-3D modes and EAX HD, which makes this a pretty high-end solution even compared to some of the cheaper PCI cards. As the product name suggests, there's support for 5.1-channel and this comes via three 3.5mm audio jacks. Furthermore, it has a 3.5mm jack for line-in and one for microphone input, as well as two RCA jacks for stereo audio out and an optical S/PDIF out for connecting to an external amplifier etc. At US$59.99 it's more affordable than the X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook for those looking at upgrading their notebook audio and it offers some additional features, but it's …

AnandTech Exclusive: CrossFire Benchmarks Revealed "While we did get the chance to take an early look at CrossFire during Computex, we recently learned that what we saw wasn't actually full CrossFire. This time, we have an actual master card in our hands and we'll put ATI's answer to SLI to the test. Of course, due to the very prerelease nature of these products, our tests were not without some bumps and detours."

ATI Crossfire at Beyond3D ATI's X8xx CrossFire Graphics Arrive at Anandtech "The Crossfire system in its current implementation does have a number of positive points though. For one, when the system was fully set up its stability seemed to be very good, with no issues under Windows and very good compatibility, without any rendering issues, on all the applications tested here - even the smaller test applications worked flawlessly. The software and control side seemed to be fairly good, with the Crossfire just being enabled in Catalyst Control Centre without needing a reboot for like-for-like board configurations and the Super AA mode already integrated into the FSAA s…

AMD's ATI Hybrid CrossFire Sneak Peek Exclusive "Hybrid CrossFire is not meant for the enthusiast, but we do think the technology will indirectly benefit enthusiasts in the future, hence our reason for talking about it. That and Hybrid CrossFire is just pretty darn cool technology. Hybrid CrossFire is achieved by utilizing one of AMD’s new integrated chipset GPUs (IGP) and one of their new video cards. That’s right; Hybrid CrossFire utilizes one video card plugged into your PCI-Express slot and is able to join forces with the GPU built into the motherboard chipset. The setup we got to game and benchmark on is seen below."

CrossFireX preview AMD's CrossFireX: Tri & Quad GPU Preview "Looking at four-GPU scaling, as represented by two Radeon HD 3870 X2s in tandem, pushing 3x a single 3870's performance is highly dependent upon the title and resolution. Only Half-Life 2: Episode 2 manages it, just, with the other games scaling to around 2.5x. Crysis scaling, though, is horrendous, and that's a problem in itself, considering just how popular the game is."

I just wanted to come by and let everyone know about the new LAN party that I am planning for early 2010! After years of working with MassiveLAN and attending over a hundred LAN events, I've decided to start up my own party. The location will be the South Lockport Volunteer Firehall, the same location of MassiveLAN 2006-2008. We're going to be capping this event at 75 seats, which gives us a lot of advantages over the MassiveLAN events that have been held at the same location. We will be able to provide attendees with more space to spread out, with two computers per 8-foot table. By capping the attendance, we're also in a much better position to provide stab…
