Is anyone in the Beta of Archlord? It seems that you need a fileplanet membership to download it, but I found a torrent of it. I haven't actually played it yet because it's downloading some behemoth of a patch at the moment. I'll post back later tonight with my impressions. They have an interesting marketing strategy, offering a unique, in-game item for those who pre-order the full game. Check it out Archlord Game

PurSuiT gets credit for this one.... AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Utilities & Updates "The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer can help improve some PC gaming video performance by compensating for those applications that bypass the Windows API for timing by directly using the RDTSC (Read Time Stamp Counter) instruction. Applications that rely on RDTSC do not benefit from the logic in the operating system to properly account for the affect of power management mechanisms on the rate at which a processor core's Time Stamp Counter (TSC) is incremented. The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer helps to correct the resulting video performance effects or other incorrect timing effec…

Can SLI in a Notebook Beat Desktop Graphics? 'Desktop replacements not only have sufficient CPU capabilities, but offer features such as large displays, RAID arrays and even dual-graphics solutions. Desktop replacement systems usually come equipped with either a desktop processor or the most powerful mobile processor. Armed with an AMD Mobile Turion 64 ML-44 running at 2.4 GHz and 2 GB of memory, the Battalion is ready for anything that comes its way. As we mentioned earlier, the system has dual Nvidia GeForce Go 7800GTX graphics processors connected together via SLI to give the blistering performance for gaming on the road. 9. Google developing eavesdropping software ??? The idea is to use the existing PC microphone to listen to whatever is heard in the background, be it music, your phone going off or the TV turned down. The PC then identifies it, using fingerprinting, and then shows you relevant content, whether that's adverts or search results, or a chat room on the subject.

  10. Woot got my new harddrive yesterday. I am planning on dual booting with XP and Fedora Core 5 and maybe Mepis I think. gonna be tricky considering I have never used Linux before.

  11. I guess this is relevant here. I wrote a batch file to shutdown unnecessary processes and free up system resources from idle processes. I use it when playing games and a few others have asked me for it, so I thought I'd post it up for anyone that wants it. Copy the code into a text file. Rename the file taskkill.cmd. Open a CMD prompt and CD to the location you saved the file. Run it as Taskkill -list and it will generate a list of your currently running processes at the bottom of the batch file. Open it and remove any system processes or anything you want to leave running. Afterwards, just run it by double clicking the file or directly from the cmd prompt as taskkill. At…

  13. This here's an idea I had just now that is put in use but isn't really maximised to what it could be. Basicly u got your group of friends who randomly decide to have a tiny lan of like 3-4 guys at any random time of random time of day. They just call eachother up and say hey you wanna come over and lan? yay or nay. So I say we make a list for those who want to be part of that tiny lan on short notice. I know some people can't or just don't like the idea. For those people. Just don't sign up. But for those that do here you go. You just need to post the most basic information. #1. Name that you can call you when they answer the phone and not have the wrong …
