  1. Ford and Microsoft team up on new dashboard OS The system, unveiled at the North American International Auto Show on Sunday, is called "Sync" and has been developed in partnership with Microsoft. Sync also promises to integrate not only digital music players such as the iPod and Microsoft's new Zune, but also allow car owners to play music directly from USB memory sticks and from mobile phones via wireless Bluetooth connections. Drivers can select songs by using controls built into the steering wheel, or via voice commands. In addition to playing songs, the Sync system will allow the user to listen to streaming audio broadcast over the Internet.

  2. Ford sets fuel-cell record at Bonneville "The Ford Fusion Hydrogen 999 raced to a record 207.297 miles per hour Aug. 15 at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, setting the mark as the world fastest fuel-cell car. The 999 also is the world's first and only production vehicle-based fuel cell race car. After more than one year of design and development and 10 years of hydrogen vehicle research, Ford’s fuel cell team worked through technical difficulties and the hot desert climate in a successful effort to join the 200 MPH Club of Bonneville Speed Week."

  3. I decided to jump on an opportunity to take 10 week classes in both Chinese and Arabic. For $100 each you can't beat that price. I'll be a beginer in Chinese but I did 3 years of Arabic in undergrad so I'll do intermediate for that class I think.... but I'm rusty... http://www.iibuff.org/FLC.html http://www.iibuff.org/documents/2007_Fall_...ration_Form.pdf I was about to do this same type of clase up in Toronto every Saturday for 10 weeks... but that's 1.5 hours just to get there... this is 1 mile up the road from my job! woot!

  7. Howdy, 31 yr old Buffalo gamer here. I was on the r/Buffalo subreddit and noticed a jump in interest for a “WNY Gaming Club”. After some quick searching, I found this. But it seems there’s been no activity since November of last year. I’d love to connect with the owner of this forum, and see how we can restart this group? Maybe revamp the community to provide a space for the new wave of gamers as well. thanks!

  9. Tyan readies new mobos, quad-core ready PSC "One of Tyan's major showpieces at Computex was the S4980, a motherboard that manages to squeeze four 1207-pin Opteron sockets and 16 DIMM slots into an Extended ATX form factor. As one might imagine, Tyan did cut some corners (literally) to be able to fit four Opterons in an EATX mobo. The board is only outfitted with one expansion slot—PCI Express x16—and it has "only" six Serial ATA ports. The S4980 is largely aimed at cluster systems, Tyan says."
