with all this talk of doom 3 comming out in less than a month or when its done(what no world wide IT GONE GOLD!!) get some pratice in on the orginal with a game engine update at : jDoom yes the lost souls are light sources and and as the baddys do have noticable damage taken (preset damage textures) its not farcry lighting.. but a outstanding doom port/mod

Cat 4.9b & Doom3 real secret about speed boost ? For those that have read the reviews of ATI's and nVidia's top hardware, nVidia has/was holding a comfortable lead over ATI. And there has been talk for some time that ATI was completely rewriting their OpenGL drivers (which these would NOT be part of), but interesting read just the same!! I stopped at BestBuy today and picked up a copy!! Nope, I didn't pre-order. The single player rocks (so far). Very scary!! When could you REALLY say that about a computer game?! Multi-player, I could only find one server I could get into, and it was choppy as hell but I did kill the person who was running it and then he/she yanked it!!!

I've only had one try at internet gamin' in Doom3 and it lagged so bad it wasn't worth playin'!!! But last night a couple peeps stopped over for some Doom3 LAN goodness and it was awesome!!! I was running a dedicated server and there were just 3 total playing and it played like butter!! (It should have, with all of us having gigabit ethernet, except one, all plugged into my gigabit switch) Oddly the pings still fluctuated from 27 to 2ms. Usually it was in the mid/high teens. I've been a downloading fool this morning. I started my trek in hunt of games I like other than Solitaire. (Ok, don't get jiggy on me... I think it might be a temporary thing...) I downloaded a game called Syberia (recommendation from a friend at work), some Bugs Bunny RPG game and god knows what else I downloaded cuz I can't remember.
