  2. Just to confirm my calculations: How much time would it take to transfer a 5Meg file over a 768kbit connection? Do not consider tcp/ip overhead, etc. Assumse it is a pure connection with no issues.

  3. Looks like the IP change happened Sunday morning. It seems like some (down Orchard Park way) are completely without internet access because they are not getting a public IP currently. Of the 2 modem's I've seen working, the premier one is getting horrible speed, and the other is getting decent speeds, but having trouble getting to some sites, my.yahoo.com, ebay.com, plus others... 4. 5. http://www.wgrz.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=46859 Are You Paying Too Much for Time Warner Cable? Posted by: Mike Igoe, Reporter Created: 4/4/2007 4:20:02 PM Updated: 4/4/2007 5:18:40 PM Tom Stasio of Amherst is a Time Warner cable customer. He's had cable in his house since Adelphia originally owned the company.Recently when asking Time Warner some questions about his bill, he got a surprise. "I discovered there's two differen't rates, says Stasio. "There's an Adelphia rate and a Time warner rate. I found the Time Warner rate was less, almost $11 a month." Tom claims he got the lower rate only because he asked about options. …

  6. Time-Warner is now mulling a plan to charge a per-gigabyte fee for internet service. A leaked memo reveals they're now watching how many gigabytes customers use in a 'consumption-based' pricing experiment in Texas. The announced plan was that they were considering a tier-based approach, as opposed to per-gigabyte fees. 'As few as 5 percent of our customers use 50 percent of the network,' Time-Warner complains, with plans to cap usage at 5-gigabytes, and more expensive pricing plans granting 10-, 20-, and 40-gigabyte quotas. It would suck to have Netflix to download HD movies and use your bandwidth in a day.

  7. The buzz in the grapevine is that Time Warner is selling the High Speed Internet. They are only required to keep the call center in our area open until June 1'st. Some employees are already looking to get out. Some are trying to relocate but that probably won't happen.

Titan Amanda TEC (Thermal Electronic Chip) Cooler Review "The Titan Amanda TEC is a tower-design cooler with four heat pipes and two fans for taking air in and exhausting it. The first pair of heat pipes takes heat off the bottom plate of the copper base which is nickel-plated to prevent corrosion (quoting the manufacturer). Next goes a 60W Peltier element that pumps heat up from its bottom to top, above which another nickel-plated copper plate is located. Two more heat pipes take heat away from the top plate. The plates are fastened together with four spring-loaded screws. You can see traces of thermal grease along their edges. Judging by the color and consis…
