I noticed a few people here have Nuclear Dawn in their steam wishlist so I figured some of you might be interested in this. The bundle contains Nuclear Dawn, Max & The Magic Marker, Fractal, and Super Crossfire (steam keys only for the first 3). They usually end up adding extras as the sale goes on, more games or soundtracks usually.

Nvidia Readies 3-Way SLI Technology "Nvidia is stepping up efforts on getting 3-way SLI ready for launch on Nov 12th. However, to get 3-way SLI up and running, there are a few requirements. Firstly you need a 3-way SLI drivers. Secondly, you need either a 680i SLI or the upcoming 780a/780i SLI board with at least 3 PCIe x16 slots. Thirdly, you need either GeForce 8800 Ultra or GeForce 8800 GTX cards as these cards have 2 SLI connectors on each card. Even the upcoming G92 cards will not support since it has only 1 SLI connector. Fourthly, you would need a 3-way SLI bridge card."

GeForce 6600 (NV43) Preview "Note that both versions are on PCI-Express, while the 6600GT is SLi Enabled, meaning you can run two cards in one machine for added performance. Shader Model 3.0 features on both cards of course, NVIDIA continuing to hold that over ATI. Interestingly, both cards are listed as 128-bit memory interface, while previous chatter/rumour has had them as 256-bit."

  7. ATI and Nvidia's Same-Day Mega-Launch Mayhem "Both high-end cards have rich feature sets and can support multi-GPUs. The answer comes in the form of if you like hardware acceleration of FP16, SLI, Pure Video or another Nvidia-centric feature, then choose Nvidia. Do you like HDR with AA, CrossFire, or another ATI-centric feature? Then choose the ATI solution." NVIDIA's Tiny 90nm G71 and G73: GeForce 7900 and 7600 Debut NVIDIA GeForce 7900 Series Preview Do understand that the reason NVIDIA leaves these harsh filtering optimizations on is two-fold. First, on smaller displays, it simply does not make a difference to the vast majority of gamers out there. Seco…

NVIDIA and Sony Joint Developments "Anna (X-bit labs): As far as I know NVIDIA may claim that there was not that much investment into the RND: only about 50 engineers. Is this the result of the fact that Sony’s own engineers contributed to the development of the GPU in a significant way? David Roman: We do not disclose anything on the actual resources. Obviously there is a major economy of scale. This chip is a custom version of our next generation GPU. So we’ve been working on the next generation GPU for close to two years now, namely about 18 months. I don’t know the cost of this one but I know the cost of the last generation: it was 350 million dollars. These a…

  11. NVIDIA cuts Q2 sales forecast – shares dive over 20% NVIDIA’s shares have tumbled by over 20 percent in after hours trading after it announced that Q2 revenue was going to fall short of the guidance it provided on 8th May. On top of that it announced a one-time charge of between $150 million and $200 million from weak die/packaging material used in some previous generation GPU and MCP products. This has led to higher than normal failure rates in notebooks with certain configurations.

  13. Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX Review - Toms Hardware.com "Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX: A card that's almost as fast as the 8800 Ultra at a much lower price is a good thing. But a year and a half after the release of the GeForce 8 series, and even though AMD doesn't really have anything that can go head to head with this card, we'd have liked a little more punch to replace the 8800 GTX with (which is also now being sold for under $400). What we got instead was a card that's very noisy under load and limited by a stingy 512 MB of memory. These drawbacks are especially disappointing given that the 8800 GTS 512 MB is very similar and less expensive." GeForce 9800 GTX and 3-way …

http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,147112-c...ps/article.html The first, a high-end GeForce GTX 280 with 240 processors and 1GB of frame buffer memory, sells at a spit-take-worthy price of $649 starting June 17. What does that that mean for these PCI Express 2.0 cards that pack 1.4 billion transistors? Nvidia promises that the GTX 280 is 1.5 times faster than a high-end 8800 / 9800-series GPU. While our testing continues, we can tell you that EA's Crysis ran twice as fast at 1920 by 1200-pixel resolution with 4x Anti-Aliasing compared to Asus' EN8800GT Top (on average, 8800GT cards cost about $200.
