B.Ob.
G80 pictured with a water cooler "From what we tell from the pictures, the card will end up being really hot as it needs a water-cooling to calm the temperature down. It also needs two six-pin PCIe power connectors to power the beast."
B.Ob.
Nvidia to launch DirectX 10 chip in mid-November "Since DirectX 10 is positioned as a Vista-only solution, with presumably no ability to work with previous Windows versions, Nvidia's move to launch the GeForce 8800 in November should rather be considered as a symbolic step, said industry sources. So far, Microsoft only promised that Windows Vista will run DirectX 9.0, allowing to later upgrade it to DirectX 10 via Windows Update, the sources indicated. When Microsoft releases a DirectX 10-capable OS, ATI will perhaps catch up with the competition, the sources added."

B.Ob.
G80, Geforce 8800 GTX is very CPU dependent "Don't say that we haven't warned you - you will need a faster CPU to push this card to its limits. A chap called Victor metioned in the overclocking story actually bought G80 card, he is not under NDA, which makes it even worst for Nvidia.
