AMD Athlon 64 FX-74 & Quad FX Platform Review "The FX-74 processors sit atop of NVIDIA’s nForce 680a chipset, an enthusiast class board you’d expect to be running Google’s web servers instead of a heated game of Ghost Recon. The Quad FX Platform truly comes into play in the second half of 2007 when AMD will have their native quad-core processors ready, giving you a 4-core by 4-core system. At that time enthusiasts will be able to use the Quad FX platform to drop two quad-core CPU’s into their system giving you an octo-core desktop system."

ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series ATI Radeon HD 3870 & 3850: A Return to Competition HD 3800: AMD’s Midrange Rebuttal "We are sure you are more interested on how these new cards perform compared to the existing GeForce 8800GT and the Radeon HD 2900XT so we will keep it short and sweet in this article and follow up with another to go over power efficiency at each state, temperature states, video playback and any other intricacy you might like to know about."

ATI’s R520 architecture, the new king of the hill? "Well ATI sure kept us waiting, but it will finally be introduced this month, the R520 architecture, the successor to the X800 family of graphics cards and a contender for the 3D graphics throne. But why wait for that introduction when you can have a sneak peek today? Normally we would’ve adhered to ATI’s NDA and published results the moment it expired. However this time around ATI decided to just not bother with us as they made it very clear that we did not make the cut, as we have written some articles about CrossFire, R520 and ATI’s financial situation that were apparently not appreciated. Hence we’ve not been brie…

Interview: ATI and the Xbox 360 I began by asking Richard for his opinion on the Xbox 360 archtecture. “I’m really impressed,” he commented, “It’s way better than I would have expected at this point in the history of 3D graphics. The unified shader architecture alone is capable of giving a performance increase of a factor of nearly two over the hardware that we have in PCs today. That’s because we see many cases, and this is particularly true on consoles, where games are limited by one of the two groups of engines in the graphics chip, either the vertex engines or the pixel engines. With a unified pipeline we can now devote 100% of the hardware to which ever task is t…

ATI Calls PS3 Unrefined "Q: You make it sound so unrefined! A: [Laughs.] Well, yeah, but the tragedy is that it is unrefined. There’s a lot brute force in there - I’d be the last person to admit it, but the truth is that the 7800GTX is a pretty powerful piece of hardware, but it’s not very elegant, it hasn’t got the kind of: ‘Well, how do we design this to be the best possible console we can build for this money?’" there is more.... go read it!!
