B.Ob.
AMD Athlon 64 FX-74 & Quad FX Platform Review "The FX-74 processors sit atop of NVIDIA’s nForce 680a chipset, an enthusiast class board you’d expect to be running Google’s web servers instead of a heated game of Ghost Recon. The Quad FX Platform truly comes into play in the second half of 2007 when AMD will have their native quad-core processors ready, giving you a 4-core by 4-core system. At that time enthusiasts will be able to use the Quad FX platform to drop two quad-core CPU’s into their system giving you an octo-core desktop system." B.Ob.
Yeah, at least it only jumped up to 510 watts during full load thou. (Although that is with a single 8800GTX video card, as there are 4 16x pci-e slots on that motherboard!) Yeah, I gotta get a beefier p/s. Its definately the OC'n that is killing them. The #'s are decent, but not for twice the power consumption!! Only nice thing is you could drop 2 quad-cores into it next year...
