AMD, Intel unwrap their latest server chips "With Tulsa, a dual-core Xeon server chip from Intel coming in the second half of the year, the emphasis tips toward performance. The chip will run at 3.4GHz, faster than the 3GHz Xeon chip (formerly code-named Paxville) on the market today. Tulsa also comes with a 16MB unified cache, a large reservoir of memory on the chip for rapid data access. This means that each of the cores can access data from the entire cache. Presently, Intel and AMD dual-core chips sport segregated caches; dual-core chips from IBM come with a unified cache."

http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/article/1787/ Wow that's crazy for the P4's latest chip to beat the AMD Athlon 64 FX55 it has to be clocked at 5.2ghz which is twice the clock speed of the AMD chip which only runs @2.6ghz. "Not surprising the Pentium 4 needs quite a boost in clock speed before it is able to convincingly beat the Athlon 64 FX55, at a clock speed of no less than 5.2GHz there’s no doubt about who takes the performance crown. And yes, that’s double the clock speed of the Athlon 64 FX55 processor which runs at a mere 2.6GHz. It has to be said though that reaching a 5.2GHz clock speed isn’t for the faint of heart; the motherboard chipset and mem…

America's Army Training Helps Save Accident Victims "After seeing an SUV go out of control and roll about five times, Galvanek stopped and ran across the highway to the crashed vehicle while his wife called 911. Two people were inside the SUV; Galvanek removed the passenger and got him away from the vehicle, and after assessing him as having only minor cuts and injuries, instructed him to remain clear while he retrieved the driver. The driver was much more seriously injured, with two lost fingers, head trauma and profuse bleeding; employing the knowledge he had gained from America's Army, Galvanek located a towel, put pressure on the victim's hand and instructed him t…

http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/1...ws_6114977.html "Big Deal: EA and NFL ink exclusive licensing agreement Five-year contract gives EA sole rights to the NFL, including teams, players, and stadiums. Take-Two reacts, calling it a "tremendous disservice to the consumers." Electronic Arts has signed the biggest sports free agent on the market. Players, the following emergency patch was implemented into the game: ------------------- World of Warcraft Client Patch 1.2.4 (2005-02-22) * We have deployed a client-side change that should improve performance when large numbers of players are gathered in a small area of the world. No other changes are included with this emergency patch. ------------------- Since we are seeing a lot of players asking why this wasn't announced beforehand, please allow me to explain. We had high hopes for the performance boost that this patch would provide, however, were concerned about just how much improvement it would provide. If we had announced it earlier and …

I'm trying to figure out how to make a plastic case NOT fry my components....I'm not talking about plexi, it's about the same material that a 5-gallon bucket is made out of. Really light, VERY sturdy. I've got the design down, just don't know if I should spray it with metallic paint to make it conductive (which I've seen suggested on other forums) or if there's some way to make it anti-static.... Any suggestions?
