ATI Radeon 4800 Launch Details "ATI’s Radeon 4800 series will be introduced in three flavors - as 4850, 4870 and 4870 X2. The company will also offer a “4850 256MB” (as opposed to 512 MB in other versions), but this SKU is a so-called "option" and is geared towards to the OEM/ODM/SI crowd to support them with cheaper parts for the back-to-school period and beyond."

This looks like a sweet card, but a little pricy. I give it 8-10 months, it will be under $150. ATI Radeon 9800 XT Maybe we can get a package deal. We've got enough serious PC gamers with hardware and software tech skills. We should be beta testing for ATI, Nvidia, 3DFX, etc.. Get paid to play.

R600 has 512-bit external memory bus, Orton promises it takes no prisoners R600 will therefore feature a 512-bit external memory bus, likely using 1.2GHz GDDR4 for ~153GB/sec from memory pool to chip, to back up the smack AMD's Executive Vice President laid down.

ATI Takes on Physics - Computex Day 1 "So where does that leave the normal guy that does not have a spare mortgage to fund his next gaming machine? ATI did also have another Intel Conroe system running a Crossfire 2+1 configuration, where an X1600 was being used for physics in conjunction with two X1900 XT video cards for graphics. So if you have an “old” X1600 ATI video card laying around, you might want to hang onto it for future uses as a physics processor in a new box." You'll pardon me if I try not to drool at the site of 3 x1900's......

ATI x16 vs x8 Performance "A couple of weeks back we looked at the performance of the nForce x16 chipset by plugging a couple of 7800GTX cards in SLI mode and finding out how much extra performance we could gain by having two dedicated PCI-E x16 lanes instead of one that’s split into two X8 lanes. The results were disappointing with only one game, Quake4, showing any performance gains. Now with ATI’s Xpress 3200 Northbridge officially launched, we figured its only fair to put ATI to the same test and thus today, we will show the performance difference between two X1900XT cards under the older ATI RD480 chipset which has two PCI-E x8 lanes and the newer ATI Xpress…

ATI MultiGPU Done Right: The Radeon X1800 CrossFire Edition "The success of CrossFire means much more than whether or not ATI ends up at the top of some silly graphs; it will determine whether or not ATI has a chance at stealing away some of NVIDIA's very profitable Multi-GPU business. And believe it or not, CrossFire's success is very important to Intel. Intel's soon to be launched 975X platform will ship with full CrossFire support, but NVIDIA hasn't blessed it with SLI support, so Intel's only chance to be taken seriously as a high end gaming platform is with ATI's assistance." ATI Radeon X1800 XT Crossfire "Now that ATI have fully released the X1000 series…

This hit yesterday, but I was busy trying to read these all.... Hexus.net Toms Hardware Anand Tech.com Beyond3D HardOCP For those that would like a more indepth talk with ATI on the x1900 series: R580 Architecture Interview "If you look at apps such as 3dmark05, FEAR, D3/Q4, and many new upcoming titles, you'll see that the RV530 often doubles (or more) the performance against RV515, at the same clock. Same is true for X1900 vs X1800. Having said that, if you're running older apps, yes, the extra shaders might not benefit you as much, but again, we designed these parts for an excellent performance on current games, and an even better performance on the new…
