Particularly in Blu-ray playback, we've personally been greeted with the 'Your PlayStation 3 is too hot. Please shut down.' warning on many occasions. Firmware 1.9 released for PS3 "Sony Computer Entertainment has made firmware 1.9 available for the PS3, bringing several usability enhancements to the console. Most basic among these, users are now able to set a custom background as a replacement for the default gossamer animation. Additional cross-media bar (XMB) related improvements include the ability to organize the ordering of games/demos, eject discs from within the XMB, and an enhanced folder system."

Sega Teams With Rebellion For New Aliens vs. Predator Title Announced at a Sega press event in London today, prepare to welcome Aliens vs. Predator (only a working title, but you get the gist), which marks the triumphant return of developer Rebellion. A decade ago, they created a game with this same title; a game Sega is now calling "a legendary title that went on to define an entire generation of multiplayer gaming." Details on this new project are a little hazy, but from what we can gather, it's definitely part of the Aliens and AvP series of games.

The key feature according to Sony, is the new photo gallery app which allows your digital pictures to be organized by various criteria including the camera used to take the photos, the event date and time, colors in the photos, as well as the number, ages, or facial expressions of the people pictured. Yep, that's right the according to the video, the PS3 will be able to determine the relative age of the people in the photo and whether or not they are smiling. Also included in the release is guest access to the Playstation store for non-Playstation Network members. Much of the energy comes from machines that are left on, but not in use, the NRDC said. Of the three consoles, Sony’s PS3 was the biggest energy hog, followed by Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Hi people. Sorry for only posting in lieu of Fighter oriented announcements, but it's all our group plays... We are trying to get some regional tournament action going around our parts parts. This will be a multi-game tournament, run quickly and efficiently by me and my staff. All tournaments will begin promptly on time, and be double elim- randomized brackets via software. It will probably start off small, but I hope to make this at least a semi-annual occurrence, once I can get some hype up.
