Upgrading but after spending a day looking at ideal components Ive given up on the grounds its just too darn expensive. So im looking to do a quite respectable rig in the $1000'ish range. Can be a little over. Honestly I could afford to do a big system but simply cant justify the expense. I wanted to try a small case / mini comp type build : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811112222 So been eyeballing microATX boards and the goodies to go with. After checking out Toms HW I looks like the i5 750 is the way to go. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/intel-...i5,2410-14.html http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-g...cpu,2570-6.html …

Community Update - 6/2/06 "The teams here at DICE and at EA want to take a moment to acknowledge that we are aware of the issues that some are experiencing with the latest release. We are continuing our work to review and find potential solutions to the problems affecting many players and server admins. We are also reviewing recent changes to servers and gameplay. While we continue our work internally we want to remind everyone to keep using the EA forums to provide feedback. We review the comments in these and other forums regularly while we consider the direction of Battlefield. We also want to assure to the mod community that we understand the difficult…

If you guys remember my old case, you probably remember the fan with the scrolling messages. You can use them to display your system specs or any text you want using a USB connection and the included software. Xoxide has them on sale for $4.95 shipped, or $3.95 shipped if you buy more than four. Might make for good prizes... http://www.xoxide.com/cooljag-pro-flash-80mm-fan.html

Project Tranquillity "Tranquillity here will be used as some kind of router lab by friends in need so it will have 9 motherboards and 30+ network cards in the smallest possible volume. The construction material will be MDF so a good exercise before starting the work on the Time Machine."

So I made some changes in the house and moved my 48inch 1080i Projection screen Sony up from the basement and into the living room. I then moved my 32 inch 1080P flatscreen Proscan into my office as my 3rd monitor and I have to say it's nice to use it for movies that are on my computer but I have to say that reading text and browsing the web on this big screen is a bit annoying. I tried to play BF2 on it and BF2 kept crashing before it would even start but I remember having that problem with BF2 in the past. I'll take a photo of my setup soon but it does all look nice on my desk.

Pixel Shader 2.0b is more than enough for everything "ATI SENT A CLEAR message to the press invited to its London "Shader Day" event. Richard Huddy, the firm's head of European developers relations told us all that you can shade everything you need to with the 2.0b shader. He made it clear that most complex shader program in Half life 2 is 90 instructions long. Shader model 2.0b is limited to 768 instructions which is more than enough. Shader model 3.0, heavily promoted by Nvidia, is limited to 65536. Crytek's most complex shader that it uses to creat incredible looking water in Far Cry is 50 instructions long. Crytek CEO and key Far Cry person Cevat Yeril…

PS2 Supported Through 2010 "It's a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy; as it continues to sell, development continues, and consumers continue to buy. There's such a wide range of entertainment experiences available that I think it would be very difficult for people to complain, 'this console doesn't have anything that appeals to me'." http://www.neoseeker.com/news/9623-ps2-through-2010/
