B.Ob.
Looking Glass Entertainment decided to leave their employer to form their own company, which would go on to develop a game called System Shock 2--a game we'll take a retrospective look at in anticipation of Irrational's next project, which we'll reveal to you exclusively tomorrow. (Here's a hint: it will likely please fans of System Shock 2.)
B.Ob.
BioShock "Irrational Games originally conceived of its cult-classic hybrid game System Shock 2 as a "spiritual successor" to the original game. And Irrational's next game will, in turn, be a "spiritual successor" to System Shock 2. We're pleased to bring you the first official details on BioShock, a new game that will attempt to further the open-ended, emergent gameplay of the previous games by offering even more choices for players to creatively interact with the world around them and to solve the challenges that face them." B.Ob.
BioShock Interview "IGNPC: Why is the game now called BioShock? Ken Levine: The game was always called BioShock. We first started internal brainstorming sessions around 3 years ago. We were pretty crazy busy making other games, but there was so much internal enthusiasm about making a game in this genre, we just couldn't stop people from working on it. It has always had a feeling of inevitability about it…this is the game staffers at IG were determined to make happen."
