  1. I did a 220 pointer in about 18hours then turned it back off (haven't folded in months) . Didn't like the increase in room temp or constant fan noise. /shrug
  2. Wtf we did boat tricks that hardly counts as playing with yourself :x
  3. Funny I think that's the exact ram he has now... I was thinking it was RAM related, but with the RAM and Video in, it just shuts down after 30s.... with the CPU installed (with or without RAM) it does the beeping. I'm going to see if I have a spare DDR2 stick at work I can 'borrow' just incase when he gets his replacement board in tho. Thanks for all the help
  4. It sounds like 1 long beep almost, but it pulses a little bit, which makes it sound to me like it's 8 short beeps spaced too close together.... but I suppose it could be 1 long 2 short... He said he was just gonna return it (mainboard) anyways at this point. Since no one I know (or here either, it seems) has AM2 there's no way for us to test the CPU. Sucks to see people have such problems on their first build.
  5. Yea, I guess if someone has an Intel system with DDR2 that would at least eliminate one item. I was just hoping someone would have AM2 so I could test the ram and chip at the same time. Asus M2N-SLI board, I think, but he bought it from newegg open box. When you put the chip in it beeps 8 short, 2 long. The manual doesn't provide the post codes, just says something like "If it beeps more then once or not at all, contact your retail center for support" Take the chip out (with RAM and Video still in) and it just turns on for about 30 seconds then powers down.
  6. I have a friend who recently has been trying to put together a computer. I went over there yesterday to build it for him, because this was his second CPU and second motherboard. Long story short something is not working but I dont have anything to test with. I'm looking for someone with an AM2 board nice enough to test a CPU and some DDR2 ram. Just trying to narrow it down for him so he knows what's wrong. Reply or AIM me, same name I use here.
  7. newegg link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...Item=33-342-001
  8. rofl I think I'll stick with my 3com for now... Although it will be interesting to see just how much performance this offers. But with a sticker tag like that
  9. I lol'd. This thread is great, gotta love warspartan when he gets goin --edit-- I definitely agree with this. DPGX over at WNYLAN is a 'hardcore overclocker' and likes to upgrade frequently. He normally sells his used stuff pretty cheap as well. I got a x700 Pro PCIe card from him that artifacted once it heated up. Not sure if it was his overclocking or the passive cooler he had on the thing. I slapped a fan on it and it took care of it but it still creeped up from time to time. Not trying to bash the guy I would still consider buying his used stuff, just gotta take it all with a grain of salt. Cheers good luck on selling it.
  10. Used and working 3000+ socket 939 chip. I have the original packaging, HSF (it was used too, you'll need thermal paste), and warranty booklet. Was in NoyServ and I dont think it was ever overclocked. I dont need it anymore as I upgraded and bumped chips from computer to computer. This was the slowest left and it needs to go Good for those of you looking to switch to 939+PCIe and upgrade later. Best way to get in touch with me is on AIM at the same name that I use here. Asking $40 ADA3000DAA4BP LBBLE 0516GPBW
  11. Aye I was at the place in the Summit Park Mall the other weekend w/ WarSpartan. It was good times too bad not enough people showed up /shrug The facility is nice and the backdoor to the rear parking lot offers pretty much direct access to your car from the building. You dont have to haul your computer through the entire mall. I would recommend they put up a sign (maybe some vinyl) on the door just to make it easier to spot/remember.
  12. Reviving this thread so I can find out if you guys are going to make it to TurkeyLAN. We'd love to see you there and abuse the switches
  13. I never got big into System Shock (1) but it was interesting, I did play 2 and loved it. Cant wait to download this.
  14. Anyone can say they get alot of hits and make up stats, not that maddox does, but alexa lets people see stats from a nonbiased view.
  15. alexa is a rating system that is popularly used to see how popular a site is ranked against another. While I dont think it gives out any popups, it does trigger every spybot program because it does track where you go and it does give that information to their servers. As far as I know it's not spy/ad ware but I dont have it installed myself, so what do I know.... the lower the number a site is ranked, the more popular it is (google is like 1, yahoo 2, etc, etc.) Some sponsors will use this as well to see if the site gets alot of hits and if giving whomever loot will be worth it to them in the long run.
  16. WNYLAN has another LAN coming up November 26th.
  17. They say you can bring your own KB/mice and stuff but wont push drivers if you ask them to. No nostromos...
