  12. Photoshop to get GPU and physics acceleration "GPU acceleration is one of the most significant trends in today hardware industry, opening the doors to an entirely class of software running desktop. What will be possible is fascinating to see on a monitor, nut it is not tangible, if you just hear about it. It appears that the next Photoshop will be one of the first mainstream applications that will tap into the GPU for a speed up. And, at least from what we have seen during a first demonstration, the progress is simply stunning."
  13. Yep, you had some quality time with the switch!!

So who is going to see this?!?
  16. GPU vs. CPU Upgrade: Extensive Tests "Geforce 6 and 7 cards are hardly suitable for current games and modern LCD resolutions—the higher graphics settings in the test show that the older graphics chips really have reached their limits. This is obvious, at the very latest, when you try to combine a Geforce 6800 GT with a more powerful CPU, which does not achieve any palpable increase in 3D performance. However, games are not 100% dependent on the graphics card; the Geforce 8 and 9 require a basic level of power, otherwise they are unable to exploit their 3D potential. The speed of the CPU should lie somewhere between 2600 and 3000 MHz; any lower, and the new graphics chips lose considerable performance."
  17. Age Of Conan Collector's Edition Sold Out "Funcom is proud to announce that the Collector’s Edition of Age of Conan is now completely sold out in all markets. The exclusive edition was announced in January, and has since topped retail charts at numerous retailers. In some markets, the Collector’s Edition has been sold out for weeks, and as a result additional boxes were made. These are also sold out, and the total print run stands at 111.000 units. Lucky customers may still find some copies on retail shelves, but no re-orders are available."
  18. The 4000 GPU is yet more powerful, "the 4600 series will have 240, the 4800 series will have 480, and the 4870 X2 will sport a total of 960 SPs" Keep in mind the 2900XT and 38xx have 320. That is a 50% boost just in raw number. Who knows if efficiency is also improved.
  19. Extra latency at the same speed.... FTL. Not to mention DDR4 is only on video cards atm.
