  1. Neverwinter Nights was cool, had a few glitches tough....not to mention the easy ways to cheat. I built a character who had to choose a spell that he didnt have enough wisdom to support. After that, the character wouldnt load. It was cool to creat a magical sword +100. A little boring to fight anything but dragons with it. Sequal should be cool. Still, nothin beats the old UT, and gettin Nemesis in a jumpmatch flak cannon battle....Alway fun to see him burst into chunks! :rotfl:
  2. :rotfl: Your nuts...Why would you do that to your poor little browser?? I hope you got a really big screen, or you only get about 6 lines to view....hehe
  3. Now its day 2. :bonk: How many of us will straggle back in to watch the championship match? I'll be there to collect my case and PS that I'm gonna win. :rotfl: See you there :bump:
  4. Wargasm will be there too.....Ready to Rock -n- Roll!!! Anyone looking for a Flak sandwich?? :explo: Hay Nem,...See you in my crosshairs!!! :spank:
  5. Bob, when I clicked on Payment options, I got "Page cannot be displayed" (the most popular page on the web....hehe) How and where do we send Paypal funds? :bonk:

    Price check

If you mail-order parts, you could check Pricewatch.com. They have barebones systems fairly cheap, and should cover most of the list. Then you select the other pieces from a local store, computer show or order them from another vendor in the list. Of course there is a difference. You usually get a litle better price thru mailorder, but you have to wait for the parts to come in. YOu'd pay a lot more at a local computer store for the same thing. But there is the instant gratification of buying it and taking it home. You need to weigh the $$ savings against the suspense.....staring out the window waiting for the UPS guy.
  7. Hey Nem, Where'd the pic dissappear to? I finally tried to view it and its gone. I guess Bob didnt want his secret out..... Parox, you should know better than to post secret pics of Bob on his server.....I hope you got another copy. :bonk: I may even dig out some pics of Nem building/breaking his first PC....
  8. I may be able to get you a 15 or 17 inch monitor cheap. My neighbor works at a place that gets old office computers. I'll ask him to look for one. Anyone looking for 72pin SIMMs? :rotfl: Now that its pretty useless, I got a lot of 128mb PC100 and 133. Wont fit in my computer. Got a few P3's too. Stuff would be good for a linux box, but not much use at a lan party....hehe. :bump:
  9. Mac??....Oh yea, its a paperweight that you can play games on. :bump:
  10. Dont think I can dremel off 4" of the board. Maybe I could build legs for the case and let it stick out the bottom... :bonk:
  11. I'm trying to fix an old NetVista. P3 933mhz socket 370. Obviously the case requires a smaller than normal motherboard, my old tyan mobo is about 4 inches too long and All the boards I have that fit are socket 7. Anyone got a microATX PGA370 mobo in the closet or attic? :bump:

    UT2k4

Hey guys, I'm gettin my frag skills back up, so I can give you a good run at the next lan. Stil dont have UT2004, but I cant imagine its much different than 2003...besides wanting to use more resources. Took almost 90 minutes to beat BR Bifrost on masterful. Thing was only giving me 2-3 points per goal, and the rest of my team didnt score any...but neither did the other team. Flawless Victory! Time to teach Nem a lesson...again. Playing BF was too easy, lost my UT frag skills for a while there. Hopefully by the June lan, I'll be living in Buffalo. :bob:
  13. Here's a few computer cartoons you might find amusing PC Funnies There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed his desire to become a great writer. When asked to define "great" he said, "I want to write stuff that the whole world will read, stuff that people will react to on a truly emotional level, stuff that will make them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger!" He now works for Microsoft, writing error messages ************************************************** User n.: A programmer who will believe anything you tell him. Machines don't save you from doing more labor, they just save your employers from paying for more labor. The Definition of an Upgrade: Take old bugs out, put new ones in. :rotfl:
  14. You should look at Pricewatch The 256meg 9600pro is listed at $95 including shipping, but you might want the 128meg 9800se instead for $128. Pricewatch Lately the prices there beat show prices by up to 20%. Most distributors are looking for CC's, but a growing number of them now accept paypal. Prices are now listed in order of total cost including shipping, and all products are New, in box...unless you go to their used section. Deffinately worth a look. All items I've purchased thru them work great. Radeon 9600XT 128 - $146 Radeon 9600XT 256 - $158
  15. Poor Asus? My Asus mobo tells me if dual channel is enabled during bootup....assuming it doesnt fly passed that screen before the monitor warms up. I usually only see it during restarts :popc:
  16. That makes sense. That first simple review said that the cards looked identical. Apparently they are. Looks like ATI just cut a trace to disable 4 pipelines and raise the 3D benchmark....and of course charged a little more for that feature. Still, I think those guys are a little daring doing that to a $400 card. :cheer: Maybe we can put a dip switch in there to turn it on and off.
  17. That case looks cool...but I dont know if I'd want my case to look old and rusted till it gets that way on its own.....which should never happen. Then again, my old server case got a little rusted from the ice packs I was using to circulate cold air. It worked, dropped the cpu temp by almost 10 degrees. Just an icepack with a HS/F sitting on it. I dont think the mobo liked it too much, thats the one where the IO chip stopped working properly. It wouldnt run the UT 436 patch. Kept telling me I had the wrong disk.
  18. Hey, thats cool. Are you guys able to make a better Asia skin than what was created for the original UT? I still find it easier to see things in UT than it is in UT2003. The bots seem to blend into the background pretty well. Nem found a 'Negative' skin for UT classic that worked well against a dark background, all that was visible was the face.
  19. I must say...Its About Time. Even with the ISP's filters, message rules, etc... I still recieve over 90% spam emails at all address's....except ntac. Its nice to see their finally doing something about it. I did wonder what the giberish was about, but I figured it was a way to get thru some of the spam filters. Now if they can find a way to stop the other issue of the text being part of an image, so the filters dont see it as text. I am a little surprised that the first spammer convicted is from Buffalo, and the charges that sent him to jail weren't about spamming, more about the methods he used to enable the spamming. Question is how much of the illegal money he recieved will be offset by the $16mill judgment by Earthlink. Will he be left with millions?
  20. Thats the only way they have to try to keep up. Nvidia keeps trying, but like the first Voodoo chips compared to the S3's, ATI keeps blowing them out of the water. Now they seem to have developed a strategy to see what theyre up against. :explo: BTW Dragon, I just spoke to my buddy, he doesnt know if he's working VH yet. Not till about a week before the show....I'm trying to get a free tkt. I might even get the chance to work the show.
  21. I guess you guys ran out of jokes. A Microsoft Joke There was a pilot flying a small single engine charter plane, with a couple of very important executives on board. He was coming into Seattle airport through thick fog with less than 10m visibility when his instruments went out. So he began circling around looking for landmark. After an hour or so, he starts running pretty low on fuel and the passengers are getting very nervous. Finally, a small opening in the fog appears and he sees a tall building with one guy working alone on the fifth floor. The pilot banks the plane around, rolls down the window and shouts to the guy "Hey, where am I? To this, the solitary office worker replies "You're in a plane." The pilot rolls up the window, executes a 275 degree turn and proceeds to execute a perfect blind landing on the runway of the airport 5 miles away. Just as the plane stops, so does the engine as the fuel has run out. The passengers are amazed and one asks how he did it. "Simple" replies the pilot, "I asked the guy in that building a simple question. The answer he gave me was 100 percent correct but absolutely useless, therefore that must be Microsoft's support office and from there the airport is just a while away." :rotfl:
  22. I'm still trying to figure out what language that is......not to mention how you get all these games on those tiny drives. My 160gig is more than half full....then again, movies take up a good portion. MIB2 is pretty good, a couple other star trek movies, 22 gigs of Voyager, and lets not forget Enterprise....I guess half of it is movies and Star Trek. Less than 40 gigs free....gota get more DVDR's :bump:
  23. We need to find a way to force these companies to release them at a reasonable price. $400 - $500 for a video card is outrageous. I remember when you could get the newest card for around $150...of course, a lot of people were still using monocrome monitors. VGA was considered a special feature. My first VGA card had 1meg of ram, and at the show it was $70...That was before I upgraded to a 120meg HDD. I still have the drive, and it still works. :rotfl:
  24. Just another example of his grate speling abilitee. Newbie's wont have any idea what he's talking about....I dont think he does either. With a little help, maybe we can bring him up to 2nd grade spelling. Any volunteers to tutor Dragon in spelling? :popc:
  25. Well I did plan to be there today, but it just didnt work out. I'll try to make the next one. :cheer:
