PurSuiT
When I asked you about running 3dmark06 I knew that card was going to walk all over mine... it's all about the SM 3.0 support. I am looking at upgrading to either a x1900XTX or a 7800GTX 512MB sometime after March will all depend on price as both cards are even on benchmarks. B.Ob.
'06 must rely heavy on SM 3.0... As both my SM 2.0 and CPU (same x2 3800+ just OC'd) scores are higher, but my card does not support SM 3.0 Probably a few reasons for 06 leaning to SM3..... 256-bit bandwidth to mem is not coming down to mainstream/budget cards. (not considering 9800 Pro nor x850 cards, since those were introduced as flagship cards initially) So devs are getting more use out the shader and vertex pipes.
