http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/dungeons-dragons-...e/536083p1.html usually not interested in MMORPGs but this one looks alot diiferent than anything else out there right now. Looks like it could be something to play until NWN2 comes out, for all us RPGers.

I haven't tried on any of my systems using ati cards yet but I know carcass tried them on his 9600xt and said the frames really didn't go up but it got rid of the lag that he would get sometimes and it runs like butter now. So far no other issues have cropped up, plus I was reading alot of forum posts no one had any complaints except for 1 person had slow downs in morrowind which I really don't know anybody who still runs that game anymore. Not much has changed except a much better openGL driver.

just added, Nem it's a great little program. I try to get everyone I know to use it, makes hooking up with people on certain servers a piece of cake.

Well finally did but it on and test a little bit and all seems ok, had some problems but reinstalling drivers fixed those. It was weird it messed up my Gigabit Nic where I could get on to internet and get email but trying to transfer files between systems was a no go. But reinstalling driver fixed that and had some problems with my nostromo n52 pad but it was easliy fixed reinstalling driver and profiles. Did some benchmarks and everything was about the same and haven't had any problems with games, played Halo for about an hour and a half no crashes, Conan4life you might want to try the newest nvidia drivers 61.77 for Halo I had alot of problems with Halo using older drivers but anything after 61.3* fixed those crashes for me. I'll do some more testing but everything seems ok with the upgrade might have to do alittle messing around but just minor stuff.

paroxysm can't try it he's using catalyst 1.02 drivers and it would mess up his directX 5.0 games he's still playing plus he can't get enough of GLquake. he-he! LOL! I'm not gonna get a chance to try till wed. but will let everyone know that afternoon if it screwed me up or not. Not really anything that would benifit from it now unless they rerelease the farcry patch fixed that is or when doom3 comes out.

Yeah, there is a hugh list of bugs with this patch. I'm really shocked that ubisoft let this patch out the door. Alot of people are having issues with ati cards where the game won't run at all. I think they must have tested on one type of system and that's it, horrible is what I call it. They just pissed alot of people off. ParoxysM where's my ram?

Well I does ad alot cool features for my 6800gt SM3.0 support and alot of preformance increases but it messed up my save games which has effected alot of people, I should have waited and made sure the patch didn't mess anything up but it's ubi soft's mess up, they should have at least warned that it might mess up your saved games. That's a pretty big bug to miss and release a patch like they did. I lotta people having problems say reinstalling fixed some stuff but I don't know if it will fix my save game issue.`I really don't want to install a 5 disc game again and find out it didn't fix the issue.

It's to bad I waited for this patch to finish the SP story because now my latest save game crashes at the end of loading and throws me back to the desktop, I've been reading some forums and it looks like this patch has as many bugs as it fixed. Even tried installing latest official drivers 61.76 from nvidia's site and they showed me no luv. Damn the man!!! Stupid ass patch!! I can go back and get one of the earilier saves to work but I have to go thru a really hard area again that took me awhile to get thru the first time, this sucks. So be warned it might screw up your saved games.

That's the beta 2.0 your playing, the gold version isn't out on the web yet. Gold version wouldn't have broken menus. To check if something has been released for download you can check http://www.nforce.nl/ lists everything except music. I've played the beta 1.0 and 2.0 and both are bugging as hell and had graphical glitches with the 9700pro, beta 2.0 ran alot better on my 6800gt but was still bugging as hell, menus broken and you had to go into console to load maps. I can't wait to see the gold version only a couple of more weeks, too bad it wasn't beening released before massiveLAN, oh well.

I'm trying the 61.80 and haven't had a problem yet, so it looks like I finally found a driver that works with everything, at least everything I run anyways. Now just gotta wait till farcry 1.02 patch is out to do some more testing.

Kingdom Hearts- good action/adventure rpg, Devil May Cry 1&2 - good action game, Onimusha 3 demon siege - action 3rd person but awesome, Rise to Honor- cool jet li fighting game, Rygar - 3rd person action remake, The Mark of Kri - 3rd person action stealth game with a cartoon feel(mix of conan and a disney film) is one of my favorites and is cheap as hell too, The Suffering - a horror 3rd person action, Final fantasy X - good rpg, Twisted Metal Black, Transformers is cool as hell too, lotta goof fighting games and rpgs , plus some good platformers( Jak & dakter 1&2, sly cooper, rachet and clank1&2, Maximo 1 & 2 (remake of ghost and goblins)) but if you don't have an xbox I'd almost say get that instead because it has better games coming out down the road, Ps2 only has a few new ones that look any good( GTA san andreas and Metal Gear Solid snake eater are the only ones I'm looking forward too) I have all 3 gaming consoles and I play my xbox the most and I'm like you, I don't like playing FPS on a console just PC. plus the xbox is alot easier to mod!

yeah maybe be by fall they will some cards out for sale. I suprised nvidia doesn't have a newer off. driver, I think both companies are about the same with driver support these days. Over the last 2-3 years ati has improved alot. With these nvidia drivers no matter what version I run I find 1 game that has an issue with each version, trying the 61.80 and haven't had an issue yet but haven't tried to much. Man 21 days and counting till massiveLAN, I can't wait already registered and paid. even though i'll get my ass handed to me in most games it should be fun( to bad they weren't doing a BF 1942 tournament, i might stand a chance)

Neither is really availiable yet for retail I kinda of lucked out when i bought mine, I didn't pay over retail for it like most places were charging 40+ dollars over retail and they had it in stock for a couple of hours anyway. The problems with video quality for farcry most people are complaining about I don't have, looks better than the ati 9700pro i had in there, might be a driver issue alot of reviews use 61.45 which are f**ked betas I'm using 61.36 with minor issues(call of duty crashes every 10-30 mins), may try 61.80, i tried 61.71 but halo wouldn't run at all. Betas suck but last off. driver from nvidia is 56.72 from april(real old) but this is the worst product release for both companies that I can remember as far as getting cards out for retail. But in reality it's pretty much a wash on preformance I think nvidia has some more advanced features(SM 3.0 is the big one) but ati has some cool features too. So like I said it's pretty much a wash this round. I just liked the 6800 gt because it had all 16 pipelines enabled with out have to do any kind of mods to it like you have to do with the x800 pro and it only requires 1 molex and only takes up 1 slot and the cooling is pretty good so i should be able to get a decent o/c out of it.

Cool site but it's looking like nvidia might win this round with more reviews on both cards (x800 series and 6800 series) with the updated drivers and retail boards nvidia is coming out ahead in most benchmarks and pixel shaders 3.0 is looking like it's gonna get alot of support just because of the speed boost and with the delays to x800 PE and short supply of x800's in general it's looking a little grim for ati, don't get me wrong I love ati and had ati cards for the last couple of years and this round I bought a 6800gt. by the way does anyone know any good nvidia vid card sites, it's been so long since I used nvidia all I have is ati sites bookmarked?
