Nvidia's VP says the CPU is dead "There are no more lies and no more cold war between Intel and Nvidia. Surprisingly, Nvidia just started a full-scale frontal attack on the biggest semiconductor company in the world that we all know as Intel. ... There will be more let us just gather a few more things about this first attack. I am sure that Intel works hard on its counterattack and it probably won’t take any prisoners." More on Nvidia vs. Intel verbal warfare "Huang claims how Intel's integrated solutions are "a joke," and goes on by saying that even if Intel manages to increase their integrated graphics tenfold by 2010, that still won’t be enough to beat Nv…

"When it comes to performance the AMD Phenom X3 8750 performed much faster than the AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ and actually beat out the AMD Phenom X4 9600 (Running the TLB Patch) in a number of benchmarks. It was also able to perform better than the Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 and Core 2 Duo E6750 as seen in the benchmarks." "Throughout testing, the Phenom X3 8750 performed in-line with our expectations, outpacing the dual-core chips more often than not, and falling behind the quad-cores in all of the multi-threaded applications. Despite a huge clock speed disadvantage, the Phenom X3 8750 was able to outpace the 3.0GHz Core 2 Duo E6850 in a handful of tests, and in all but a …

ASUS Creates Upgradeable Graphics Cards "The vision of upgradeable graphic cards goes back to the late 1990s, when Micron Technology was experimenting with removable sockets. In 2006, both MSI and Gigabyte showcased upgradeable graphic cards, but their concepts, which were based on GeForce Go MXM boards, never took off. Earlier this year, Asus introduced a single board with three MXM slots for ATI Mobility Radeon 3850 or 3870 cards (upgradeable with future parts), and has now unveiled its single-MXM product."

Creative launches USB X-Fi "The USB sound card supports X-Fi Crystalizer, various CMSS-3D modes and EAX HD, which makes this a pretty high-end solution even compared to some of the cheaper PCI cards. As the product name suggests, there's support for 5.1-channel and this comes via three 3.5mm audio jacks. Furthermore, it has a 3.5mm jack for line-in and one for microphone input, as well as two RCA jacks for stereo audio out and an optical S/PDIF out for connecting to an external amplifier etc. At US$59.99 it's more affordable than the X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook for those looking at upgrading their notebook audio and it offers some additional features, but it's …
