JonnyFunFun
Celebrate the holiday season with the first LAN69 - the area's newest adult-only (18+) LAN party in Lockport, New York. LAN69, ran formerly as 1337lan, now has a new venue - in JonnyFunFun's heated and insulated garage large enough to seat and power 35 gamers. The LAN will run the second weekend in December from Friday night to Sunday night. Food, in the form of pizza, will be provided as well as basic drinks. Alcohol is allowed at the party, but you must bring your own - we won't supply it for you. Tournaments will be announced at a later date, but rest assured there will be tournaments and there will be prizes to win! Pre-registration cost (made payable via PayPal) is $15 for entry, at-the-door cost is $20. That's $15 for a little more than 48 hours of straight gaming! Where's this party at? 6969 Northview Drive Lockport, New York 14094 When's the party? Friday December 11th at 7:30 PM to Sunday December 13th at 9:00 PM How do I register? experimental jason
Not that I object, but what's the point of it being 18+? Are we: Getting rid of young, annoying gamers who have just discovered swearing? Playing 8-player Descent I on our 386's? Erecting a cold cathode stripping pole? Tournament prizes are edible underwear? Voting?

JonnyFunFun
Last time I did a LAN there were far too many annoying parents that did not want to sign a waiver and absolve me of any responsibility of their kids. The year that I did the event at the fire hall, afterward there were so many parents complaining about the kinds of things their kids got in to (mostly as a result of filesharing) that I vowed since to never allow it again. Mainly, I don't want to deal with annoying parents. Now keep in mind I'm not going to be ID'ing everybody who comes in the door, but if you're obviously young, I won't let you in - not because I don't want to game with you, but because I don't want to deal with parents (unless they're the type of parent that I am, which I doubt). Now if your parent is coming to game with you, then by all means, bring it on - but what I want to avoid are the annoying little 14 year olds with parents that threaten a lawsuit if their precious children get their hands on some porn. Also, since we are allowing alcohol at the party, allowing kids in would be opening a major Pandora's box that I don't really want to deal with. There's just far too many things that could go wrong from a moral and legal standpoint. Edited November 16, 2009 by JonnyFunFun
scaz
Sounds good to me. I will have to see if I can pull away from the family for a day or two.
