Posted August 5, 2006 Share Posted August 5, 2006 CPU-boundedness of the video system Part I - Analysis "To start with, we produce results in the game HALF-Life2 at 1024õ768 in the «maximum details» mode but with the antialiasing and anisotropic filtering disabled. There is contradiction here. The «maximum details» settings are in charge of the image quality, and the disabled AA/AF allow producing FPS values which do "rest against" the CPU performance. We depict the produced results on the graph, with the X axis denoting the CPU clock speed and the Y axis reflecting the produced values of the video card performance in FPS."
