B.Ob.
Three Quarters There : Seagate’s Barracuda 7200.10 750 GB "The first "mainstream" launch of perpendicular recording technology is in the form of the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10. With peak storage capacities of 750 GB (or 0.75 TB, if you will), the launch of this product is garnering some high profile attention toward this new recording technology. In a sea of 500 GB drives on the market, Seagate has suddenly (and somewhat unexpectedly) rocketed in front of the competition in terms of storage capacity. We managed to get our hands on one of these drives for testing, which we've put through our usual battery of storage tests." Seagate's Big Kahuna: The 750GB 7200.10 Hard Drive "We didn't take formal noise measurements, but the drive ran quietly, even in full-bore benchmark mode. Drive noise was inaudible above the power supply and CPU fan. Even the usual rattling of the drive heads during random access tests seemed absent. However, these drives do run warm, so you'll want adequate cooling, particularly if you run multiple-drive configurations. They were never uncomfortably warm to the touch, though, even during drive benchmark testing."
