Sacred
I think its about time I got a new sound card the one I have is the original sound blaster live value. I think that may be causing some issues with games of today. I have been looking at these cards which would be better for gaming. http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=290236 http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=360224 http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=290243 newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16829102188
Buckett
I have a personal fancy for Audigy ZS cards, but that's just me. Never used the Gamer's edition though. X-Fi cards are pretty nice, but I think it's a little bit of overkill just to play games with. The Audigy 4 card would be nice, but the Audigy 2 ZS comes with a bunch of games, too...very nice software bundle, great price for the card (retail is usually around $140), and one of the best gaming/EAX sound processors around. :dork:
B.Ob.
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic is WAY more powerful then the Audigy2 or 4 series!!! I know dragon has the X-Fi and my new system will have the same.
Sacred
I regularly download music also though. I am kind of leaning towards the X-fi Music.
Buckett
I never said that the Audigy cards were better than X-Fi, I did, however, say that the Audigy was my favorite, and the X-Fi was overkill for just a gaming system. If you're doing music as well as games, follow the leader and get an X-Fi. They are better, if you actually have the need for it. For the price difference on ZipZoom, I would jump on it, too. B.Ob.
Sorry Buckett, did not mean to imply you said that! For the price and longevity, it seems silly not to get the low end x-fi if the software bundle doesn't mean much to someone. I know BF2 does exploit the x-fi series, and think there are a few other games as well, besides a patched Doom3.
ParoxysM
If fagta|ity endorses it, it must be 1337
PurSuiT
If fagta|ity endorses it, it must be 1337 I deal with onboard sound for gaming, might switch though, as I have seen the difference with the Intel NIC I got back for Dragon. Sound might be the same.
Nemesis
Sacred, I would definitely go for the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme sound card if U are looking for a nice card. That deal @ Newegg is worth going after... X-Fi Xtreme Then again, there's this deal @ Buy.com that I just happened across... X-Fi Xtreme Both are very good & the lowest I could fine so far. Hope this helps. -- Nem
