Posted May 19, 2005 Share Posted May 19, 2005 TDK develops 2X, 100GB Blu-ray Disc prototype "The Blu-ray Disc Association, which is responsible for the disc formats, standardized a 2X version of the read-only BD-R disc and rewritable BD-RE disc in the latter half of 2004, said Taro Takamine, a spokesman for Sony Corp. in Tokyo. Posted May 26, 2005 Author Share Posted May 26, 2005 Toshiba sees unified DVD format "The only hope is if we can reach an agreement in a week or two on a new format that is not that different from Blu-ray physically," Kutargai told reporters at a gathering of business executives when asked if there were still time to agree on a unified format and have that incorporated in the PlayStation 3.
