ParoxysM
HIS ATI Radeon HD4870 You have little to no excuse now to buy one :party-drinkers1:
DaPoets
That must be a lowerend 4870 because the core engine clock and memory clocks are much slower than my 3870x2 which newegg has for sale again for $189 (4 DVI outs...)
PurSuiT
That must be a lowerend 4870 because the core engine clock and memory clocks are much slower than my 3870x2 which newegg has for sale again for $189 (4 DVI outs...) They look pretty close to me. Cept the 75Mhz lower clock and the 4870 has GDDR5 which is 3x more preformance at the same speed then GDDR3 Brand ASUS Model EAH3870X2/G/3DHTI/1G Core clock 825MHz Stream Processors 2 x 320 Stream Processing Units Memory Interface 2 x 256-bit Memory Size 2 x 512MB Memory Clock 1800MHz Memory Type GDDR3 Brand HIS Hightech Model H487F512P Core clock 750MHz Stream Processors 800 Stream Processing Units Memory Interface 256-bit Memory Size 512MB Memory Clock 1800MHz Memory Type GDDR5 ...and my 2900XT that I spent $60 on 2 years ago still looks good for those specs Brand Sapphire Model 2900XT Core clock 750MHz (overclocked to 900Mhz) Stream Processors 320 Stream Processing Units Memory Interface 512-bit (true 512-bit) Memory Size 512MB Memory Clock 1700MHz (overclocked to 1900Mhz) Memory Type GDDR3
DaPoets
yeah I don't know much about the GDDR3 / GDDR5 differences. Nice deal though!
PurSuiT
I am still waiting until either the 4870x2 comes down in price or the next round of cards is out, was on the cutting edge for 3 rounds, 1st person I knew to get a PCIe card the x850XT (July 2005), then moved on with two 1950Pro in crossfire, then on to the 2900XT. Think it is time to lay back for me.
DaPoets
I have always been big on Price / Performance unless I'm on one of my benchmarking fits...
