PurSuiT
Florida Supreme Court: Man Must Pay Child Support For Kid That Isn't His They said that Parker must continue to pay $1,200 a month in child support “We recognize that the former husband in this case may feel victimized,” “While some individuals are innocent victims of deceptive partners, adults are aware of the high incidence of infidelity and only they, not the children, are able to act to ensure that the biological ties they may deem essential are present.” So, basically, the Florida Supreme Court is saying that this guy should have known better than to trust his wife. Saw that one. This one is pretty good too. NOT HIS KID, BUT EX MUST PAY This one the wife went out and got artifically in pregnated right before thier divorce was finized. So they were divorced before the kid was born. He still got nailed with it. Their separation agreement said "each of the parties acknowledges that the unborn child is not the biological child of the husband," and that Peter G. "shall in no way be financially responsible in any way for said child or to Laura G. on behalf of that child." But Justice Eugene Peckham, in upstate Delaware County, found the deal was against public policy, and ordered Peter to pay child support for Alyssa, who was born in 2005. CharlieB
Actually, what the court is saying is that in this case, the truth is less important than maintaining the child's family stability.
