B.Ob.
ATI and Nvidia's Same-Day Mega-Launch Mayhem "Both high-end cards have rich feature sets and can support multi-GPUs. The answer comes in the form of if you like hardware acceleration of FP16, SLI, Pure Video or another Nvidia-centric feature, then choose Nvidia. Do you like HDR with AA, CrossFire, or another ATI-centric feature? Then choose the ATI solution." NVIDIA's Tiny 90nm G71 and G73: GeForce 7900 and 7600 Debut NVIDIA GeForce 7900 Series Preview Do understand that the reason NVIDIA leaves these harsh filtering optimizations on is two-fold. First, on smaller displays, it simply does not make a difference to the vast majority of gamers out there. Second, it gives NVIDIA based GPUs better benchmark numbers. And in the land of video card marketing, where the size of your ePenis score is king, you don’t want to give up a few benchmark points lest you have the other team waving their ePenis back at you. B.Ob.
7900 GT/GTX out of stock in USA, UK "WHY, oh why oh why? We keep asking ourselves and Nvidia why it keeps doing this. Nvidia set a great example with the 7800 GTX 256 MB and we thought everything would go just fine and dandy from there. Well it didn't. First it launched 7800 GTX 512, the rarest card from Geforce 5800 Ultra and after months of not shipping it just announced its first 90 nanometre part."
