  1. I actually have nothing against adelphia (except the high cable bills) I just got defensive thanks bob
  2. Im not worried at all im making over 4 grand more a year. F the tv, I dont want or need it, its a waste of time. i keep the highspeed until dsl catches up. plus adelphia is turning into client logic - for those of us who know the hell that was. rotating scheduales and such. Id rather be recommending computers parts, making recomendations to people who have basic ideas of what a computer is and what it does. end user customers with adelphia are dumb sh*ts. they dont even know half the time where the start button is. It takes people willing to work hard to succedd at any job. the average employee working there has 5 years under his belt. I have a friend working there for 3 years and hes making a nice bit o green. Plus in my experince no one is safe in todays economy in any tech field. My old man works for GM as an admin. They just cut his department in half. 32 to like 16 . There are no guarentees in life. As far as talking to people who make alot more than I do well i can asure you im being well compinsated for my services. Not to metion i get discounted computer parts now through ingram. plus awesome benefits. somehow ill manage to survive...
  3. http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9584_22-6085568.html IBM and Georgia Tech have coaxed a chip to run at 500GHz, a record for a silicon-based device, by dropping the temperature to minus 451 degrees Fahrenheit. The experiment is part of a project to explore the ultimate speed limits of silicon-germanium (SiGe) chips. SiGe chips are similar to standard silicon chips, but they also contain germanium for better performance and lower power consumption. Adding germanium, however, increases the price of producing wafers and chips that come out of the wafers, so SiGe chips are typically only found in a few select markets. IBM has sold hundreds of millions of SiGe chips since it began selling them in 1998, but the cell phone industry gobbles up billions of plain silicon chips annually. (Germanium is sprinkled into standard silicon chips: Intel adds minute amounts of the element to create strained silicon in its processors).
  4. After the freakin lan i tried to load quake 4, its locks at "loading menus" now....damn it all!!!!!!! Ugh, no viruses (used nortons and trendmicro), must be something to do with the fact that quake 4 hates me.

I need to find out where I can purchase the "nipple" screws that anchore the sync to the mobo. Anyone have any ideas other than contacting zalaman directly hey guys what are we thinking of playing. I have quake 4 hl2 (wich crcashes when only play) doom fear unreal 2004 and prob find a few others I mean is bf2 a deffite, Im not to fond of the slower fps's
  11. i should be able to make this LAn party as my new mobo came in, as long as i dont fry this one and im hoping that the cpu is still intact. damn bob, those prices look pretty darn good......hmmm
  12. Im getting constant popups of viruses on this site all of a sudden, what the hell is goin on
  13. Sorru guys, comp is still a pile of expensive non working parts....see ya all next month :spank:
  14. One way to handle this is to simply Upgrade your pc parts when U can, 1 piece here & another there, typically not all @ once unless U do what I do & save up over time & then go spend crazy. -- Nem I've always done that, except in this case I hadent upgraded from agp to sli/pci-e. So now I need to get a new mobo, cpu, and vid card. Staying with agp would be stupid. So to stay in the game I would need to spend like 800 or more. I believe Ill become a jigalo to make the extra cash. Giggidy.
  15. I dont know guys, i still need to figure out how to build me a budget gaming pc
  16. my psp - i just bought a 2 gb hispeed memory stick from amazon for $65....awesome
  17. Why keep so many, ebay those things 1 million billion
  18. HEY!!!, good news, both my hard drives that I though were dead are both working, The HD that im using as primary OS is a junky propritary piece of crap. When I remove the main os the bios recognises both harddisks!! Excellent, So this means recovery is that much sooner now that I can minus the cost of new hds.
  19. Im loving my psp now more than ive ever before, Ive just finished playing through final fantasy 3 on my psp. What a great idea, Ive got castlevania on it, simpsons, and few sega roms as well, like shining force 2 Maybe if SONY would come out with more than 3 good games for this platform I woudent need to use homebrew.... ah whom i kidding - im gonna use emus and roms till i die (or for the 24 hour "evaluate then delete thing" I legally need to observe)... - f u sony I cant wait till the n64 emu is finished....that'll be sweet
  20. Thanks guys. --group hug-- Ya ill be busting my balls and bank, to try to make it to the next lan.
  21. Well .....the ....um thing is I was testing to make sure the screen was gonna work before i mounted it....both lcd and computer had their own outlet....so two power sources....I set the lcd down to check something.... oops I just wasn thinking. I think I got too excited and wanted to finish the project quickly.
  22. Well i think i might have tried another psu, ill give it the ol college try in a completely different case, I wish i had a spare sempron 2800 to check with. By the way, i appreciate the support. This has been a very stressfull time. If i try the steps you mentioned and they dont work i think ill try hooking it up to my car and then driving it off a cliff. thanks, Aaron
  23. well i've disconnected all peripherals in an attempt to just complete post...no burn marks, no smell the lcd screen i was mounting has bare circutry on the back, the computer was set on its side, i layed the lcd screen on the computer and it touched the screws holding the cdroms in place, zap - zap - dead. second motherboard fried without the lcd or anything else including any peripherals... Im thinking the original electrical surge must have damaged the power supply as well, other than the ram and cpu the psu is the only thing the mb's had in coming, but both died the exacte same way.... As far as the 4pin connector goes, ya i deffinitly checked that. The weird thing is that all the cdroms made it, the videocard made it, ram is good, but harddrives are gone....(tear)...im just ...ugh....frustrated with myself.
