I don't know that I would be all that interested in watching Netflix on my Wii. Lets think about this for a moment.... the Wii doesn't have the Video & Audio power to even match that of the PS3 & 360, no HDMI Interface, it's Internet service isn't all that hot, downright slow @ times & it doesn't offer a HDD. When trying to watch video on the Wii, it's normally a painful experience w/ the constant buffering it's doing & it just doesn't look or sound all that good. Nintendo still hasn't unlocked the DVD player in the Wii, they have it locked out acting like it's just a CD player. I've seen DVD's played on modified Wii's & it's not that impressive. I suppose if U were someone who only has a Wii & it's the most advanced thing in your home, then it may be worth exploring. That's my 2 cents. -- Nem

That's OK DaPoets... we ended things around 1:30am. The games played were L4D, Shattered Horizons, Serious Sam HD & L4D2. We almost got a UT3 match going on as well. Once again, I had an AWESOME time gaming with U guys & meeting some new faces. Shattered Horizons ended up being a pretty cool game & it was nice to get a LAN going for Serious Sam HD... now I just need to teach people how to play it correctly & not be in such a hurry to get from Start to finish ;-) We had another Nemesis show up in L4D2, GPA Nemesis & he & I had some pretty good battles... often resulting in me being cursed at alot :-] Next LAN Party will be at Tecboy's in Feb, so start planning on getting there now so we can have more of a crowd. -- Nem

Tecboy, I'll be attending your mini-LPE. Pursuit, hook me up for the Shattered Horizons pass, I'll def give that a try. Now if they would only get Diablo 3 & Battlefield 2: Bad Company 2 out, we would be all set!! Serious Sam HD should be a blast to play with U guys... I'm looking forward to that. -- Nem

Not only is news of a new PS3 Slim & a MUCH needed price-cut AWESOME to hear about, but this is cool as well... "August 18, 2009 - Over at its Gamescom press conference, Sony just announced that Firmware 3.0 will be arriving soon. It'll be packing animated themes, a "What's New" section and more, according to Director of PlayStation Network Operations Eric Lempel on the PlayStation Blog. "We've enhanced the look and feel of the XMB so that it's easier and even more intuitive to use," Lempel wrote. "We've also added network improvements and personalization options to help enhance your PS3 experience." The What's New section will replace the Information Board and be placed under the PSN icon. From here, you can find "the latest and greatest game, video, PlayStation Network and PlayStation news and releases, as well as your recently played games, in a sleek, new animated format." Meanwhile, 3.0 adds a Status Indicator in the top right corner that shows your avatar, the number of friends online and if you have messages. Awesomely, if you press the PS button, the battery indicator no longer covers the clock. This new firmware also redesigned the Friends List, adds PlayStation Store updates to the Game Video tabs, and gives you the aforementioned dynamic themes and free as well as premium avatars (FINALLY). Trophies get subcategories to differentiate add-on content and original content. Here's IGN Associate Editor Ryan Clements' impression of the themes: "Oh, Dynamic Themes are being shown. I just got back from seeing the new Transformers 2 movie & it was simply AMAZING!!! Optimus Prime was truly the "badA$$" character we know from the series this time around. Bumblebee was awesome & the new SideSwipe character was very cool. I highly recommend going to see it ASAP. -- Nem

That new server MOD for L4D, which allows for more than 4 peeps per team, makes the game ALL that much better. -- Nem

I definitely agree with you. This new game is coming out very quickly after the release of the original. I'm looking forward to it, I just hope they do it right & not make it a rush job. Did anyone else notice that it's out 1 week after Modern Warfare 2? Busy month for us all... lan party following those releases will be ROCKIN!!! As for U Techboy, I'm going to attempt to be there so I can add more of your face to my tires since what's on there is FINALLY starting to wear off.. the coating was very thick from last time ;-) I already have plans for that day that I'm trying to reschedule to make room for the LAN... so we'll see what happens.
