I only got a spare 3800+ 939 right now... I wasn't super optimistic on anyone having a spare. I did manage to make UT3 demo less Atari like though. I forgot that I hadn't unlocked my 6800 so I was running at 8/4 but I unlocked it and have it back to 16/6. That makes it semi bearable again. If I have to make due with this old POS, so be it. I'll still have a good time. I might have to make a run to the UPS office if the tracking info shows my processor is in town though :harhar: I'll bring the new components just in case.

I'm planning on coming barring unforeseen circumstances. The thing that really sucks is that I have all of my upgrades (DFI lanparty SLI AM2 MB, BFG 8800 GT 512, 2 gigs OCZ Plat 2) all ready to go, but my AMD 4600 X2 won't be here until next week. If anyone has any spare AM2 processors laying around collecting dust I'd love to test this rig out Saturday. If not, I'll have to wait till the December LAN. Can anyone help a brother in need?

I agree I am seriously thinking about buying it. Well, if it were me, I'd take a dual rear panel USB connector (the ones that come with the MB that I never use) that already has the 2x5 header connector and the wire and just pick up the PHR-10 and some pins and solder it on.

Anyone else playing Bioshock? I'm digging it so far but would love to see it on a decent system. I have to run with everything cranked down since I haven't done any upgrades in over a year. It's still fun though.

One long 2 short is RAM, same thing happens if you try to boot a system without any ram in it. If you're using x16 DS sticks, I've found some motherboards require the latest bios to support them. I'm going through this now with an ASUS P5B with OCZ Gold DDR2 800. I just sent the board to the manufacturer to flash to the latest BIOS and send it back to me.

Is anyone in the Beta of Archlord? It seems that you need a fileplanet membership to download it, but I found a torrent of it. I haven't actually played it yet because it's downloading some behemoth of a patch at the moment. I'll post back later tonight with my impressions. I guess this is relevant here. I wrote a batch file to shutdown unnecessary processes and free up system resources from idle processes. I use it when playing games and a few others have asked me for it, so I thought I'd post it up for anyone that wants it. Copy the code into a text file. Rename the file taskkill.cmd. Open a CMD prompt and CD to the location you saved the file. Run it as Taskkill -list and it will generate a list of your currently running processes at the bottom of the batch file. Open it and remove any system processes or anything you want to leave running. Afterwards, just run it by double clicking the file or directly from the cmd prompt as taskkill. At any time, you can run it with -list and it will list all running processes, but they have to be filtered manually each time you do so. Is the board totally dead? What all did you try when troubleshooting it? Is there a reset CMOS jumper? I've also encountered issues after flashing the bios when one revision has fan RPM monitoring and the fan I have connected doesn't meet the minimum requirements for speed. What type of chip is the bios? I have an EPROM burner if you want me to bring it to the next lan party.

No, they don't get hot, but I haven't OC'd yet. Everything is running at spec ATM. Obviously, I want to change that I called Ultra and they said the sticker warning is more to prevent people from removing it and sticking it on another stick and sending it in for RMA. The guy I spoke with said to peel them off and save them just in case, but if it came down to it, he thinks they would warranty the product as long as I called them first.

I have a couple of sticks of 512 Ultra PC3200 DDR and I figured for $3 I'd get the heatspreaders when I bought the ram. The conflict I'm seeing here is that the ram has a sticker over the chips that says warranty void if removed. I'm pretty sure to have the best thermal efficiency and adhesion of the contact pad of the heat spreader, that direct chip contact is needed. What has everyone else done? Go over the stickers, or rip the suckers off and not worry about the warranty? I have a call in to Ultra too to find out what their official stance is.

Since I've missed the last few due to vacation and other grown up responsibility type stuff, I'll be sure to make this one although I'll be a little late since I have to look at like 14 houses this Saturday beforehand. I haven't played any games since the last party I attended (which was too damn long ago), so I look forward to seeing the new stuff that's out.
