  1. You played through Diablo II with the Lords of Destruction add-on?

  3. X-box, far as I know, is not a DVD player out of the box. You need to get an add-on for it, if it plays them at all.... ... researching ... Yeah, remote to use it as a DVD player, but I'm guessing the software with the remote probably installs a DVD software decoder... "The Xbox DVD Movie Playback Kit is a quick way to expand the functionality of the best gaming machine around! Xbox requires this kit to enable DVD movie playback. Simply plug in the infrared receiver to a controller port and use the remote control designed for DVD movie playback. No messy cables or confusing game controllers to deal with!" Requiem
  4. Ok, one of my other complaints at some of the bigger LAN's I been at is that we all either play the same damn game everytime all night long, or we are all playing different games with only a few of us in. The idea of the LAN is to have a bunch of people, face to face, playing a game together. So here are some suggestions I wouldn't mind seeing done. 1) Set up a schedule. Bob, as leader, hosts. He sets up a schedule, and puts it up, like 6pm to 9pm we'll be playing Unreal 2k3, 9pm to 1am (or when it's done) we'll be playing Warcraft 3, from 1am to 3am we'll be playing Half-Life TFC. The people there can choose to or not to join the server and play, but it gives a direction rather than just everyone splintering, or being stuck with one game all night. 2) Why does every LAN have to be nothing but FPS?! I mean, I love fragging much as the next gamer, but I wanna play Warcraft 3, or Revolt, or CTF, or CS, or Star Trek SFC, or other things. Going back to suggestion 1 we could mix things up a bit more. I see some inherant problems with this, but I can also think of a few solutions... but I wanna see what you other people think first. Requiem
  5. Marvel Characters?! I gotta buy a copy of this game Requiem
  6. I agree with Opus's point that a yearly fee is going to discourage people from coming/joining. I personally can say that I would probably think twice if you were charging a yearly fee ebcause I don't know if I'm gonna like it, or the people who come since you are opening this up publicly. Also, as I understand it the $5 you were asking (not charging) per person was to fund the electric and also buy soda and pizza for the people who come. It seems to me that this method would be better. Why? Well you would then have the money in hand at each LAN to fund the Pizza and Soda for the people who are there at that time. One of the things I hated about Fragnation was paying the yearly price, and then getting "one glass of soda and 2 squares of pizza". You know, if I come to a LAN and there are 20 people who all put in $5, I think I should be able to have a couple cups of soda and a few slices of pizza without having it rationed out to me. I dunno, maybe I'm not making my point very clearly... I guess I just don't wanna feel like I'm "a way to make money." I don't mind giving a couple bucks towards electricity and food when I go to a friends LAN, but when I'm a way to make money, it isn't as pleasant. Ok, I'm clearly not making my point well.
  7. Actually, yes, the PS2 does need a NIC. I bought one, $40 from EB Games. However, the point I'm trying to make is not to play the PS2 Networked, but to bring the thing with ya so you can play people face to face. For instance, sports games (Madden 2003, NHL 2003) fighting games (SNK vs Capcom 2, War of the Monsters) race games (Gran Turismo, Simpsons Road Rage) are games that usually don't support netowrk play, but are far more fun face to face. Those wouldn't require a NIC. As a side note, X-box is a joke and a piece of crap. This is my opinion of course, and I still plan to eventually buy one, but they have poor games, they charge for X-Box Live (Sonys PS2 and Nintendo's Game Cube do NOT however some of the games themselves to, fo instance EQ on the PS2 has a monthly charged), and they really have no right to be in the console market. Each console has it's drawbacks, but overall I find the PS2 best. PS2 is the most underpowered, but it has huge amount of well done games. The Gamecube is pretty powerful, but it has very very little mature content for older gamers. X-Box is probably the most powerful, plus it has the Hard Drive and NIC already, but has poor selection and quality when it comes to games. As a note, only the PS2 is a DVD player out of the box. 8. Actually I already run a guild on Rodcet Nife - Keeper of Shadows. http://keeperofshadows.kicks-ass.net/keepe...er/shadows.html However, I am only second in command. The leader however cancelled his service 2 months ago and so I've been the active leader. Problem is that SoE won't transfer leadership to me, only the guild leader can, and they don't seem to care about the fact he isn't a subscriber any more. So now I want to restart a guild, with me as a leader and then invite all the old guildies over, but the problem is getting them all together. So I wanna start the thing and then get in touch with the old guild members as I can. See?
  9. Yeah, well I would consider bringing mine and the few sports games I have. But I would definately bring one or the other, because I wouldn't want my Console unattended while playing PC and having someone I don't know walk off with it or bust it. I am a bridge, a liason, between the world of the l33t Gamer, and the Console Gamer.
  10. Ok, LAN games are great, but the one thing PC's really don't do well is fighting games. I was thinking it would be a blast to have a PS2 or something at a LAN for like DBZ, or Tekken, or whatever, and also for Sports games like Madden or NHL. Do you think anyone would wanna play it? Would you? Requiem
  11. I personally find that Half-life TFC is the best. I've played a lot of DM, CTF and stuff, but I still haven't found anything better than Half-life for LAN party fun!
  12. Hey guys and gals, does anyone here play Everquest besides me? Myself and a friend at looking at starting a guild on the Rodcet Nife Server, and apparently you need 10 players (not characters) who are willing to join as well before Sony will allow you to proceed. Lemme know! Requiem
