I called in - turns out the L4D they had on clearance was for the xbox only. PC is still normal price. Blah.

After seeing this I went to go pick one up, but they didnt have any at the amherst one. Which one did you find them at ? Thanks.

Looks like I might bow out too. It seems L4D is still the main craze and I havent invested in it yet. Though that screenie with packing extra players into one game session has given me some interest Exactly what is being done to or with the game to create the increased player numbers ? What exactly is it about besides getting more players in game ? And lastly is it stable ? Is it a multiplayer only effect or is single player bumped too. Lastly in vs. mode does it allow human on human or is it still zombie vs. human. Just my curiosity

Wow seriously ? I dont drink this or any energy drink. I get my caffeine from good ole fashioned diet pepsi, lol. But, getting fired for drinking an energy drink ? That seems extreme, or the drink is a well known problem ?

I'm probably out for this one. I actually scheduled a LAN here a while back, so ive already got folks coming by this weekend. Im chatting a couple to see if they want to divert down to hamburg for your lan, but will have to touch bases with everyone. I'll give Pursuit the official if we scoot down in force of 6-8, he he. One guy is coming in from Rochester so not sure if he wants to make the extra drive down, so probably not but I'll see what he says. This one did sneak up on me too, wasnt paying attention since the other one was just 2 weeks ago. But then I realized after I saw this post you guys normally do the 2nd sat. Been buried in OT lately so have completely lost track of time.

I would definately like to try RA3. I have WiC but never played it. As an oddball oldie I just reinstalled Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries. I found a special Mektek upgrade pack that adds 29 new mechs a plethora of weapons and maps. Then I found a high defination patch that cleans up tons of the graphics and huds and adds a load of new sounds. All in all its total awesomeness. I would love to give that a try. Its an older game, and Ive installed it on 32 and 64 bit systems here so everything looks solid. Some of the best fun of it is picking and spec'ing out your mechs. And the combat is of couse a riot. You can shoot out legs, shoot off arms and weapons, or just blast em till they drop. I used to think you needed a joystick for it but I was playing with mouse & kb instead and it plays smooth and easy. You can drop in and out of matches just like FPS's too so its flexible. Aside from that Im always game for CoD4. Though I havent played since the last LAN.

Whats the games to be played look like for this one ? Whats on the list whats not ? I know L4D has been the rage for a while now - but im pretty much played out on that one. What are people looking for outside of that game ? Thanks

I know CoD4 has 48 person servers (50+ maybe) that ive played on regularly.

Or grab the engine used in the Call of Duty series, and add in all the goodies to that. Use their rank and perk system to boot as thats very nice. That engine runs very well on even fairly old systems but still looks good and makes for a fun game. Bigger maps, lots more vehicles...mmm.

I would have considered it but unless its my main machine I tend to need the cards with lighter power requirements for my satellites.

I had no idea this was even on the drawing board. I liked the original planetside but didnt bother sticking with it as it had a few issues. One thing I want to see in a FPS MMO is true aim and shoot mechanic like normal FPS games. Original planetside though it was FPS setup still had to hit checks built in, or was it some form of correction system. Either way though close it wasnt true aim and shoot. If they do a good job on the 2nd one I could easily see it as becoming my game of choice.

Wow...just wow, lol. That kind of stuff just boggles the mind. And honestly that kind of stuff goes down on eBay every day, lol - which has blown my mind for years The media play did eventually have deals but it was like a timing thing. You had get there just when they were doing the final markdowns and hope that there was something of modest value left. I was peeking in and out of the 2 of the local stores for a couple weeks. They finally had pricing that was a "good" deal but by then people had bought everything good. There was only a handful of minor things I was interested in at that point. I have almost no excitement or interest in the "going out of business" events anymore. If its anything like the recent ones they draw it out for weeks... Oh and also its ALL final sale no returns even if defective completely broken ... for 5% savings...ROFL !!!

The question is - is it circuit city doing the closeout or a 3rd party doing it. They are probably going to be closed out by one of those "Close Out Companies". They play the reducing discount game with inflated prices and sometimes bring in 'out of store' items to unload to boot. I read a pretty good article on them a little while ago. Had no idea there was an industry that preyed on the "going out of business" mentality.
