  1. Im there Might as well count me in as an official regular, lol. :popc:
  2. Are you guys foreseeing a healthy dose of FEAR for the LAN ? Or will it only be a last resort backup in favor of your headliner games ? Thanks.
  3. Yes I agree however - getting 20-60 people playing together at a LAN never happens, and you need the bigger maps to get the all the air and ground vehicles, and having 6-8 people playing on a 32-64 map is anemic at best. With the bots my thinking is this. If you dont have 10-12 to play in the game you run bots, then split the players you do have between the 2 teams. So if you had 8 players at the lan for example, then theres 4 each team with the rest being bots. That way the bigger maps have a lot more action rolling all over the whole map instead of guys just playing flag tag around the map. Im thinking for smaller LAN's and in situations where we want to play but theres not enough to make a 32 or 64 player map worthwhile the bots will be a worthy addition to make the overall rounds more exciting and interesting. I personally dont mind 16 player maps, but its rare someone puts one up at the lans. Everyone wants all the toys. So the bots are a great way to play without having the maps filled up with all humans.
  4. Wheres our ranked server ! LOL I dl'ed it but havent fired it up yet. Im hoping that the bot play is allowed on the large maps not just the small. Will make for some crazy fun lan games. :cheer:
  5. Its on like Donkey Kong !!! LOL Yea was some good stuff, one of us would get fragged then we'd get revenge right back - back and forth and back and forth, lol. We'll have to tag team that OCNoy Haxor player too. Noy's cool though he kept just that little bit ahead - his ego needs a little trimming right now . Come get some of my Far Cry haxing skillz OC :WTF: BTW any interest in a far cry next time :cheer:
  6. Darn good LAN, Im soo burned out right now, lol. Great time, thanks again for hosting guys. Im signing up for the LPE now so I dont forget :WTF: :cheer:
  7. Theres a good reason for the cabling on the outside, and to be honest after you get there you dont notice them at all. Another good point is that you dont have to bring you own cables with the setup they have. I found it overall very good. Whats plenum mean ? Thats a term I havent seen yet
  8. Im in ! Plus you cant really argue with the venue !
  9. Good point Pick what we're gonna play ya varmits !!! BF2 SF Q4 HL2 DM Far Cry (had to sneak it in there) FEAR Etc... Guide me and I shall play.
  10. I had a great time at this lan. Need to get the word out so more folks will come but nice setup, comfortable area, just plain nice. Games were great w00t
  11. Oooo...free entry, pizza, pop ? A BF2 server to boot ? This ones a winner, lol. I believe you can count me in wife con pending W00t. Any idea what the turnout is looking like ?
  12. I spent the night LAN'ing Q4 last night and i hate to say it but - it got a little boring real fast I think Ive gotten spoiled on the goodness that is BF2 Spec Forces. Open maps, manuevering, vehicles However I will suck up a few hours of Q4 if i have too It wasnt that bad really, Im just not into having to "make ciruits" on the map ad nauseum while popping a couple frags along the way. I was just playing the basic install - are there new maps witht he 1.2 release ?
  13. Im in Not sure what to play anymore. Still BF2 Spec Forces fan We should pick a game that we all agree to throw in on around say 5-6'ish, Commit to that for about 3-4 hours and let everything else fall into place before and after. That gives plenty of arrival and setup time before the "main event" kicks off. Everyone who's set can get in thier favorites before and after. My experience is that at any lan not just wnygamers, you only get one "good game" going for the majority. The rest tends to be a disjointed gathering of mini lans Focus on one, pick the appropriate patches, or demo versions if we try a demo, and everyone has it installed and ready to go game day (pipe dream i know). But if 4 or so people spend some time with it before game day we'll know enough of the quirks to get everyone up to speed fairly easily. As a side -> I personally like to know what im doing in a game before taking my not so uber skillz to a lan. I mean a lan is an opportunity to match up against others and I hate being the "pwned" n00b in a game ive never played. Give me one solid game that most will commit to for a decent time period so I can learn the basics before I throw down. Everyone who's really trying and excited about a game makes it so much more fun. So whats the word bird ? :popc:
  14. Is that review late or is it just me ? :popc: But I definately agree with the comments. Ive found that I like playing special forces a lot, it does seem to have more variety which is fun. I pretty much always play special forces at this point.
  15. You bastards ! Fine go ahead and play BF2 after I had to leave. Grrrr...someones gonna pay ! *Goes and sulks*
  16. Dont know if you are still running open servers or not but I'll vote for Far Cry plz
  17. Real - very exciting. But dragons right. BF2 is still very good and hot. Dont feel near like Ive played all i want to of it.
  18. Oh the hate But seriously I LOVE the game. Very fun and excellent gameplay overall. As for footsoldiers gimped against vehicles, yes unless you are spec ops or anti armor. Those two rips vehicles apart fast And i love me some vehicles. Choppers no kidding, lol. What a pain in the balls to bring down without the anti air trucks. Though yes Ive dinged down a few choppers with the M1 I didnt get the games until special forces came out. I play almost only special forces and i like it a lot. Good maps, fun weapons. When I can get some game time in this is usually my first choice still. :cheer: As for CS source I still want to try it. Original CS I bought and I can say I really dont like. After playing with BF2, FarCry and most other fairly recent shooters, the weapon mechanics in original CS make about zero sense to me. I can eat folks alive in just about any other shooter I play. When I play original CS there is nothing more annoying than being in the most stable stance in the game and firing 4 short bursts with an assault rifle at someone at short range with good aim, and not killing them. But they turn around and pop you with a headshot ON THE RUN with thier assault rifle. For me this happens routinely in that game. Admittedly Im a n00b with original CS, but still. It ends up being really counter intuitive for me. Dont even get me started on the "cover" in that game, or how by your screen you are behind a wall with a higher vertical position on the map then someone below you - the wall in front of you says you cant see them and they shouldnt be able to see you - BUT they can see your head and shoot you just fine...gah its madness i say!!! LOL i hate being shot through concrete walls. As for source I want to give it a try to see if the weapon physics are any better. Im hoping it uses a more modern physics and weapons mechanics and some of the flaky stuff i get in the old game wont be there now I get the sense though from most chats that you're either a CS fan or you pretty much hate it ? Crossing my fingers for source. If any of you think the physics and weapons were kept identical to original CS let me know and i'll save myself the trouble :wwe:
